Alas — in the sheer hope of seeing him one day, I held on to this body even as separation's fire burned it up.
An udāharaṇa of samṛddhimān sambhoga — the 'richly-endowed' reunion that both Jīva (below, s1) and Viśvanātha (s12) name as the fruit of all the moods of separation and union. The verse is Lalita-mādhava 7.18, spoken by Śrī Rādhā; the address 'O moon-faced one' (L4) is to her friend Nava-vṛndā.

indu-vadane — O moon-faced one; saḥ ayam jīvita-bandhuḥ — this very friend of my life; bhūyaḥ samāliṅgitaḥ — has been embraced again.
that very friend of my life, O moon-faced one, is embraced again at last!
Grammatically 'he has been embraced' — the vow-keeper of L3, the life-friend, is the one now held. Viśvanātha (s1, s13) explains the scene: at the Vṛndāvana built inside Dvārakā, Rādhā takes the sapphire image of Kṛṣṇa for Kṛṣṇa himself and, in joyous wonder, cries this out to Nava-vṛndā.

Jīva sets up a doubt. This samṛddhimān reunion, we were told, is the very fruit of every mood — of all separation and all union together.

sadā virahiṇīnāmof them who are therefore forever pining in separationसदा विरहिणी रहने वाली (उन व्रजदेवियों के लिए)
tatra ayogyatvātbecause they are thus unfit for it ablative of reason — the whole clause states why the reunion is impossible for themउस (समृद्धिमान् सम्भोग) के अयोग्य होने के कारण
saḥ eva tu — but that very joy; sarvottamatvena darśitānām vraja-devīnām — for the vraja-devīs, shown supreme; na sambhavati — is not possible; parakīyātvena paratantrāṇām — since as another's they are dependent; śrī-kṛṣṇena parityajya yadu-puram gatena, kathañcit cirāt kurukṣetre prāptena api, jhaṭiti viyuktena, punaḥ aprāptatvena — from Kṛṣṇa who left for the Yadu city, was barely met at Kurukṣetra, then at once parted and never regained; sadā virahiṇīnām — of them ever in separation; tatra ayogyatvāt — because they are unfit for it.
But — here is the trouble — that very reunion seems impossible for the vraja-devīs, the very women just shown to be supreme. As another's wives they are hemmed in by others. And Kṛṣṇa left them for the Yadu capital; even the hard-won meeting at Kurukṣetra was snatched away in a moment, never to return. So they are forever in separation — and thus unfit for the reunion that is meant to crown all moods.

And having let the marriage be believed, māyā then averts the real thing: any private union with those husbands is dissolved — the gopīs seem to reach the husband's bed and the rest, but the contact never truly occurs.

And it is Kṛṣṇa — Kṛṣṇa alone — with whom these women were truly joined. So Jīva secures their parakīyā purity and their fitness for the supreme reunion.
This is Jīva's resolution of the parakīyā question: yogamāyā stages the births and marriages so that the gopīs never actually consort with their nominal husbands and are kept for Kṛṣṇa alone — which is why they can, after all, own the samṛddhimān reunion.
