Viṣṇudāsa gives the setting first. Rādhā was in fact sporting together with Kṛṣṇa in the bower; yet her love welled up and overflowed, and on a delusion that he was gone her mind gave way. Vṛndā, watching Rādhā make this strange plea to her friend — begging for the one already beside her — reports it to Paurṇamāsī in amazement. Then he takes the words in turn. 'Tīvra' is 'full-grown'; from that intense love comes a 'rising' (the form 'uttha' being a bhāve ka-suffix). Separation itself is the fever; its full flood is the cause that leaves her mind overpowered. Just for that, she is whirled to the very utmost — 'ud' meaning 'high,' 'ghūrṇitā' 'reeling.' 'O friend, show me the beloved, Kṛṣṇa,' she says; and with her teeth as tools she has raised up and holds a cluster of fresh grass. 'Hanta' here is a cry of wonder: Rādhā behaves so that from that very behaviour even Kṛṣṇa was left amazed.
