An udāharaṇa of dvayor yugapan-māna — the sulk (māna) that grips both lovers at the very same moment (the lead-in: dvayor eva yugapad, yathā—). As Viśvanātha sets the scene, Vṛndā, drinking in the sweetness of the causeless mutual sulk of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa in the bower, teases the pair. This line is aimed at Kṛṣṇa; L2 turns to Rādhā.

smita-vimuṣita ('smile-stolen / smile-suppressed') is the pivot the commentators handle differently: Jīva takes it as a grammatical inversion (the past-participle placed second in the compound), while Viśvanātha reads it as a locative, 'in the theft of your smile.' yogyā is the technical term fixed by the koṣa quoted just below.

Jīva first settles the grammar. 'smita-vimuṣita' means 'whose smile is stolen away' (apahata-smita). One would expect the participle first — vimuṣita-smita — but here it stands second. That inversion is licensed, on reflection, by the āhitāgni class, where the past-participle may take the later slot.
āhitāgni ('one by whom the sacred fire has been kindled') is the stock example of a compound whose past-participle (niṣṭhā) may fall either first or last (para-nipāta); Jīva invokes that class to license smita-vimuṣita over the expected vimuṣita-smita.

Or else, Jīva notes, the reading is 'smita-virahita' — plainly 'smileless.'

Why cited: Cited from the Trikāṇḍaśeṣa lexicon to fix the meaning of yogyā as abhyāsa/khuralī — a training-drill, here a practiced knack the couple has together.
khuralī properly names practice at arms, a martial drill-ground; the koṣa equates it with abhyāsa (practice) and yogyā, so the verse's yogyā = a rehearsed knack.

krīḍā-vāda evathe quarrel-game itself is your pleasure eva — precisely the wrangling, not the love-playखेल की तकरार ही (न कि प्रेम-लीला)
svecchayā eva kṛta-māna-anyathā-anupapatteḥbecause a sulk you each got up of your own free will admits no other explanation abl. of reason; anyathā-anupapatti = 'it makes no sense on any other supposition'क्योंकि अपनी इच्छा से किए गए मान का और किसी प्रकार निर्वाह नहीं होता

So here is the real point, dropped as an oblique dig (vakrokti): you two get no joy at all out of the bower-play — what you love is the quarrel itself. Otherwise, why would each of you strike up a sulk of your own free will? Nothing else explains it.
vakrokti is 'crooked speech,' a teasing insinuation; vyaṅgya is what a line suggests rather than states. Viśvanātha closes by naming the verse's real punch — Vṛndā's tease implies the couple prizes the quarrel over the love-play itself.

Viṣṇudāsa paraphrases the whole verse. Rādhā (Śyāmā) and Kṛṣṇa are enjoying themselves in the bower-pavilion, when for no cause Vṛndā spots a lovers' sulk and, with an arch turn, addresses the two. 'nata-śirāḥ' — head bowed; 'tūṣṇīm asi' — you stand there in silence (he props the word tūṣṇīm on the lexicon's indeclinable class). 'O Śyāmā! Have you too turned away?' — and 'cirāt,' for so long, is to be read into this line as well. After a moment's watching she speaks again: the doubled 'jātaṁ jātam' hammers home the certainty of what is coming. He reads 'smita-vimuṣita' as describing the quarrel itself — the play-dispute in which the gentle smile is held back — and 'balavat' as 'mighty': in that mighty quarrel there is some yogyā, some practiced drill.
Viṣṇudāsa gives a third construal of smita-vimuṣita: not Jīva's grammatical inversion, nor Viśvanātha's 'theft of the smile,' but a bahuvrīhi qualifying the quarrel — 'the play-dispute in which the soft smile is suppressed.'
