ahāryo’nanya-sāpekṣo yaḥ kāntyā vardhate sadā |

yaḥ — the love which; ahāryaḥ — cannot be taken away; ananya-sāpekṣaḥ — needs nothing outside itself; sadā — always; kāntyā — in radiance; vardhate — keeps growing.
This is the love that can never be removed, that leans on nothing outside itself, and that always keeps growing in radiance.
The whole verse runs on a śleṣa: mañjiṣṭha is the madder plant, whose red dye is famously fast — it never washes out, needs no added fixative, and only deepens. Every phrase reads on two levels at once: the dye (the analogy, dṛṣṭānta) and the grade of love it names (the thing illustrated, dārṣṭāntika).

Such a love is called mañjiṣṭha-rāga, 'madder-red love' — as seen in Rādhā and Mādhava.
mañjiṣṭha (Indian madder, Rubia cordifolia) yields a brilliant, colorfast red; it is the highest of the color-grades of rāga precisely because that dye, unlike safflower or indigo, holds and brightens rather than fading.

'Unremovable' (ahārya) means: it cannot be driven off by any means at all.

pūrvasya — in the earlier rāga; ādhāra-guṇena ahāryatvam — unremovability was by the quality of its base; atra tu — but here; svarūpa-guṇena api — even by the quality of its own nature; viśeṣāt — because of this difference; atra eva — here alone; ahāryatvam uktam — 'unremovable' is stated.
In the earlier rāga, its unremovability came only from the quality of what contained it. Here it is unremovable even by its own nature. Because of that difference, Jīva notes, the word 'unremovable' is applied specifically here.
The distinction is ādhāra-guṇa vs. svarūpa-guṇa. An ādhāra-guṇa is a quality on loan from the container — like water staying cool because the clay pot keeps it so; take away the pot and the coolness goes. A svarūpa-guṇa belongs to the thing's own essence — like the wetness of water itself, which nothing can strip. The earlier stage was held firm by its support; mañjiṣṭha-rāga is unremovable in its own right.

kusumbha (safflower) red is the fugitive, work-intensive dye — it needs mordants and repeated dipping and still fades; it is Rūpa's stock foil for the fast mañjiṣṭha throughout the color-series.

'Which grows in radiance': for the dye this is obvious — its color only deepens with time. For the love, such a rāga brings out the very glow of anurāga. That, Jīva says, is the point.
kāntyā carries the śleṣa that joins the two readings: the 'luster' of the dye and the 'radiance' of the love are one word. On the love side, that growing radiance shows itself as the glow of anurāga — the next, higher grade.

nava-navī-bhāva, 'growing newer at every instant', is the defining mark of anurāga. Mañjiṣṭha-rāga's growth is a steady deepening of one radiance, not that constant self-renewal — and it is exactly this that keeps the two definitions from collapsing into one.
