Now to the two friendly loves — maitrya, friendliness, and sakhya, comradeship. This line says they become 'well joined' with two further qualities: udātta, nobility, and lalita, grace or tenderness. The next line gives the pairing and the resulting names.

The two are then declared, in matching order, sumaitrya and susakhya. 'In matching order' (yathā-saṅkhyam) fixes the pairing: maitrya joined with udātta becomes sumaitrya; sakhya joined with lalita becomes susakhya.

udāttena suṣṭhu saṅgataṁ maitryaṁ cet [tarhi] sumaitryaṁ; tathā lalitena suṣṭhu saṅgataṁ sakhyaṁ cet [tarhi] susakhyam — ity arthaḥ.
Viśvanātha spells out the pairing plainly. Friendliness (maitrya) well joined with udātta is called sumaitrya. In the same way, comradeship (sakhya) well joined with lalita is called susakhya. That is the meaning.
