anyonya-āśrita-dvayamthe two (ādara and gaurava) make a mutually dependent pairपरस्पर आश्रित युगल (आदर और गौरव दोनों एक-दूसरे पर निर्भर)
ādaraḥ — reverence; gaurava-utthaḥ — is what rises from the sense 'he is my superior'; syāt — so it would be defined; iti — and for that very reason; anyonya-āśrita-dvayam — the two form a mutually dependent pair.
Reverence (ādara) is defined as the feeling that rises from gaurava — the sense 'this one is my superior.' And precisely for that reason, the two of them, ādara and gaurava, are a mutually dependent pair.

gauravam — gaurava is; gurur ayam iti buddhiḥ — the awareness 'this one is an elder / a superior'.
Jīva first unpacks gaurava: it is the sense in the mind, 'this person is my superior, my better.'

Viśvanātha presses deeper: fine, ādara comes from gaurava — but what causes the gaurava? Here is the snag. Kṛṣṇa is Candrāvalī's lover, another's man, not some elder or superior. So the thought 'he is my superior' — the very thought gaurava depends on — cannot naturally arise in her. Then where does her gaurava come from?

Here is the resolution. Since all of Vraja cherishes Kṛṣṇa, Candrāvalī's regard for him turns into a sense of his greatness. So the flow reverses: her gaurava rises out of ādara — the opposite of the ordinary case, where ādara rises from gaurava. That is why the verse calls them mutually dependent.

Here is the point. Reverence only counts as remarkable when it holds firm despite deep intimacy — reverence that survives closeness. At the rati and prema stages, Candrāvalī's intimacy with Kṛṣṇa is not yet deep. So even though ādara is present there, it has nothing to stand out against; it can't be noticed. That is why the verse did not mention it at those stages.

In sneha it is different. Even though the intimacy is now very deep, Candrāvalī's reverence for Kṛṣṇa is seen to grow rather than fade.
