nātisāndrā — बहुत गाढ़ी (तीव्र) नहीं; hareḥ — श्रीहरि के प्रति; prāyaḥ — प्रायः; sākṣād-darśana-sambhavā — साक्षात् दर्शन से उत्पन्न होने वाली।
This love for Hari is not very intense. And it usually springs up from seeing him face to face.
श्रीहरि के प्रति यह रति बहुत तीव्र नहीं होती। और प्रायः उन्हें साक्षात् देखने से ही उत्पन्न होती है।
The opening word nātisāndrā ("not very intense") is the tag by which the commentators cite and expound the whole verse.
आरम्भ का पद 'नातिसान्द्रा' (अर्थात् 'बहुत तीव्र नहीं') ही वह चिह्न है जिससे टीकाकार पूरे श्लोक को उठाकर उसकी व्याख्या करते हैं।

Its root is the desire for enjoyment. Such love is counted as the sādhāraṇī — the "common" or ordinary kind.
जिस रति का मूल कारण सम्भोग की इच्छा है, वह साधारणी रति मानी गई है।
sādhāraṇī is the first of the triad Viśvanātha names below — sādhāraṇī, samañjasā, samarthā; its stock example is Kubjā.

tādṛśatvāt — वैसा (नातिसान्द्र) होने के कारण; nyūnatvam api — न्यूनता भी; āyātam — आ जाती है।
Because this love is of that mild, unconcentrated sort, a certain inferiority comes with it as well.
वैसी (अर्थात् तीव्र न होने वाली) होने के कारण इस रति में न्यूनता भी आ जाती है।
The mildness is not neutral: being "not intense" is itself what makes this rati rank lower.
तीव्र न होना कोई उदासीन बात नहीं है — 'नातिसान्द्र' होना ही इस रति को निम्न श्रेणी का बना देता है।

vidhyamāna is from √vyadh, "to pierce, goad." The mildness (nātisāndrā) and this inference-only presence go together.

And then a love made purely of resolve arises: "He who just now, by my eyes' feast alone, made me boundlessly happy — him too I shall make happy this very instant, giving him the touch of my own body after fitting service." The whole love is a bargain of mutual pleasure.
'और जिस इस पुरुष ने अभी-अभी केवल नेत्रों के दर्शन-सुख से ही मुझे असीम सुख दिया, उसी को मैं भी इसी क्षण उचित सेवा-सत्कारपूर्वक अपने अंगों के संग (शरीर-मिलन) का दान देकर सुखी करूँ' — ऐसी संकल्पमयी रति उत्पन्न हुई।
The reciprocity is still self-referential — "he pleased me, so I will please him" — which keeps this rati in the "common" class.
यह प्रत्युपकार भी 'मैं'-केन्द्रित ही है — 'उसने मुझे सुख दिया, इसलिए मैं उसे सुख दूँ' — और इसी से यह रति 'साधारणी' श्रेणी में बनी रहती है।

iti arthaḥ vyākhyeyaḥthus the meaning is to be explainedयह अर्थ करना चाहिए
kubjādīnāṁ tena — so, for Kubjā and the like; sākṣād-darśana-sambhavā iti asya — this phrase "arising from direct sight"; sākṣād darśanena paramparayā sambhavaḥ yasyāḥ — "she whose love arises from direct sight, coming about through a chain of steps"; iti arthaḥ vyākhyeyaḥ — is how its meaning should be explained.
kubjādīnāṁ — कुब्जा आदि की; tena — इसलिए; sākṣād-darśana-sambhavā iti asya — 'साक्षाद्-दर्शन-सम्भवा' इस पद का; sākṣād darśanena — साक्षात् दर्शन से; paramparayā — परम्परा से; sambhavaḥ yasyāḥ — जिसकी उत्पत्ति (इस प्रकार) है — ऐसी; iti arthaḥ vyākhyeyaḥ — यह अर्थ करना चाहिए।
So for Kubjā and others like her, the phrase "arising from direct sight" should be read this way: she whose love arises from seeing him directly, its coming-to-fruition running through a chain of steps.
यह (रति) कुब्जा आदि की है। इसलिए 'साक्षाद्-दर्शन-सम्भवा' पद का अर्थ इस प्रकार करना चाहिए — जिसकी उत्पत्ति साक्षात् दर्शन से (होते हुए भी उसकी पूर्ति) परम्परा से होती है, ऐसी (रति)।
Kubjā saw Kṛṣṇa face to face, so her love counts as "arising from direct sight" — but its fulfilment comes about only through a mediated sequence, hence paramparayā.
कुब्जा ने कृष्ण को साक्षात् (आमने-सामने) देखा, इसलिए उसकी रति 'साक्षात् दर्शन से उत्पन्न' कही जाती है — किन्तु उसकी पूर्ति एक परम्परागत क्रम से ही होती है, इसीलिए 'परम्परया' कहा।
