L1definition
prauḍha-bhāvānuviddho yas tasya priya-jano’tra saḥ ||
prauḍha-bhāva-anuviddhaḥshot through and through with full-grown love — one whom mature bhāva has soaked bahuvrīhi describing yaḥ: 'the one in whom ripened love runs all the way through'जिसमें प्रौढ़ (परिपक्व) भाव आद्यन्त पिरोया हुआ हो
yaḥwhoever is suchजो (पुरुष)
tasyaof him — Kṛṣṇa's genitive: whose dear one is being definedउसका (जिसका प्रियजन बताया जा रहा है)
priya-janaḥis the dear one, the beloved intimateप्रियजन
atrahere — in this sweet mood [madhura-rasa] atra = in the amorous rasa the chapter is treating nowयहाँ (इस मधुर रस में)
saḥthat one — precisely he resumptive, answering yaḥवही (जो प्रश्न में पूछा गया)
prauḍha-bhāva-anuviddhaḥ yaḥ — whoever is saturated with full-grown love; saḥ — that very one; atra — here, in this sweet mood; tasya priya-janaḥ — is his (Kṛṣṇa's) dear one.
Take whoever is shot through with full-grown love, prauḍha-bhāva. That one — here, in the sweet mood — is Kṛṣṇa's priya-jana, his dear beloved. It is ripened love, and nothing less, that marks out the beloved as beloved.
prauḍha-bhāva is love grown to full strength, as against a first sprout of rati. The definition (lakṣaṇa) sets the bar: the priya-jana of madhura-rasa is not just anyone who loves Kṛṣṇa, but one in whom that love has matured all the way through. The next verse (27) illustrates it.

The illustrative verse (udāharaṇa) for the priya-jana defined in 26: the dear one 'saturated with full-grown love.' The speaker is a young Vraja bride, forbidden even to look at Rādhā. Jīva frames it: she has 'somehow caught a glimpse,' and now answers a friend's question with this verse. Meter: mālinī.

Two words the commentaries pivot on. Jīva and Viśvanātha both gloss śālabhañjī as pratimā, 'a statue' — Rādhā stands before the mind's eye still and perfect as a carving, yet moving. And śyāmalā, 'the dark one,' is where Viśvanātha hears a second note (s4): with these same lines the bride shows anurāga toward the dark-hued Kṛṣṇa, not toward Rādhā only. Decode leaves both layers standing.

Viśvanātha tells the whole story. The mother-in-law and the older women were frightened on Kṛṣṇa's account — afraid the young bride would be swept away as Rādhā had been. So they warned her: 'My dear daughter-in-law, Rādhā may be highborn, but she has gone mad now — don't you go near her!' Yet forbidden though she was, the bride looked at Rādhā just once — and love broke open in her. A friend of hers, seeing her undone, asks what has come over her. This verse is the bride's answer.

anurāgaṁ ca — and anurāga too; śrī-kṛṣṇe — toward Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
And — Viśvanātha adds — the same words disclose her anurāga, her deep running love, toward Śrī Kṛṣṇa. So the verse carries a double charge: even as she gazes on Rādhā, the bride's heart is already turned toward the dark-hued Kṛṣṇa. Attachment to Rādhā and love for Kṛṣṇa are shown together, not one instead of the other.
This is the pivot to the second layer. The word śyāmalā, 'the dark one,' is the natural anchor: gazing on Rādhā, the bride's love is running toward the dark Kṛṣṇa. Viśvanātha holds both readings at once — he does not drop the Rādhā-attachment of s3, he adds the Kṛṣṇa-anurāga on top of it.
