L1definition
abhiyogād viṣayataḥ sambandhād abhimānataḥ |
abhiyogātbecause one is pressed into his service — the first cause ablative of cause: 'from / because of'; the same ablative runs through all seven itemsअभियोग (आग्रहपूर्वक याचना, बार-बार का प्रयत्न) के कारण
viṣayataḥbecause he himself is the object one is drawn to — the secondविषय होने से (प्रेम का आलम्बन बनने के कारण)
sambandhātbecause of a kinship tie with him — the thirdसम्बन्ध (नाते) के कारण
abhimānataḥbecause one thinks of oneself as belonging to him — the fourthअभिमान (अपनेपन के भाव) के कारण
abhiyogāt — because one is pressed into his service; viṣayataḥ — because he is the object of attraction; sambandhāt — because of a kinship tie; abhimānataḥ — because one takes oneself to be his.
The verse now lists the causes from which love (rati) for Kṛṣṇa can arise — this line gives the first four. One: abhiyoga, being engaged or pressed into his service. Two: viṣaya, that he himself is the object that draws the heart. Three: sambandha, a tie of kinship. Four: abhimāna, thinking of oneself as his own.
The verse names seven causes of rati in all, spread across L1-L2: abhiyoga, viṣaya, sambandha, abhimāna (this line), then tadīya-viśeṣa, upamā, svabhāva (L2).

sāthat love — pointing ahead to ratiḥ in L3 feminine nominative, subject; picks up ratiḥ stated in L3वह (रति, जो L3 में कही जाएगी) — कर्ता
tadīya-viśeṣebhyaḥfrom the persons and things special to him — the fifth cause ablative plural: his associates, paraphernalia, dwelling — whatever is 'his'उसके (कृष्ण के) विशेष पदार्थों — संगी, परिकर, निवास आदि जो-कुछ 'उसका' है — के कारण
upamātaḥfrom something that resembles him — the sixthउपमा (सादृश्य) के कारण
svabhāvataḥfrom one's own inborn nature, spontaneously — the seventhस्वभाव (स्वाभाविक प्रकृति) के कारण
sā [ratiḥ] — that love — [arises] tadīya-viśeṣebhyaḥ — from things and persons special to him; upamātaḥ — from a resemblance to him; svabhāvataḥ — from one's own nature.
This line completes the list with the last three causes. Five: tadīya-viśeṣa, the associates, belongings, and places that are his. Six: upamā, meeting something that resembles him. Seven: svabhāva, one's own inborn disposition, love that rises on its own. The 'sā' ('that love') looks ahead to 'ratiḥ' in the next line.

ratir āvirbhaved eṣām uttamatvaṁ yathottaram ||

āvirbhavetmay appear, can come forth optative: 'can / may arise' — states the possibility, not a fixed ruleप्रकट हो सकती है (सम्भावना कही गई है, कोई निश्चित नियम नहीं)

uttamatvamtheir superiority, the being-higher [increases]उत्तमता (श्रेष्ठता)
yathottarameach later one more than the one before, step by step yathā + uttaram, adverbial: 'progressively, each next higher'उत्तरोत्तर — जो कारण आगे है, वह पहले से अधिक श्रेष्ठ
sā ratiḥ — that love — āvirbhavet — may appear — [from these seven]; eṣām — of these — uttamatvam — the superiority [holds] — yathottaram — each later one higher than the one before.
Here is the verb that binds the list: from any of these seven, love (rati) may appear. And Rūpa adds a ranking rule — 'yathottaram', each later cause yields a higher love than the one before it. So svabhāva (inborn love) ranks highest, and abhiyoga (love pressed into service) lowest, with the rest climbing in between.

Viśvanātha sets up the verse. Rūpa is now giving the causes for that love's appearing, and he gives them 'loka-rītyā' — following ordinary worldly experience, the way love arises among people. The verse begins 'abhiyogāt'. Note the qualifier 'loka-rītyā': it marks this list as the worldly account, which he will contrast with the settled doctrine in the next sentence.

Now the second layer. Viśvanātha flags that the seven-cause list is only the worldly account (loka-rīti). By the settled doctrine (siddhānta-rīti) — 'tu', but — the love spoken of here is not really something these causes produce. He does not resolve this here; he defers it, saying the true account of this same love will be settled later, at verse 14.42 ('abhiyogād yā...'). So the verse carries two readings side by side: the worldly one stated now, and the doctrinal one held over. He leaves the tension open.
Forward reference to Ujjvala-nīlamaṇi 14.42. The loka-rīti / siddhānta-rīti split is the point: the worldly frame treats rati as produced by causes, while the siddhānta frame (deferred to 14.42) treats this rati as eternal, not manufactured. Viśvanātha marks the contrast but withholds the resolution.
