Viśvanātha reads it out: 'of her' is Śaśimukhī, the sakhī who brought Rādhā's love-letter. Having drunk in her words, Kṛṣṇa — to test Rādhā's love — hides the eagerness and cleverness for union with her that fill his heart. 'Slowly, slowly' (svaira = manda, by the lexicon), and made charming with a smile — how did he speak? The point: even granting his indifferent-sounding words could pass as sincere, it is from that very smile alone that the truth comes through — the smile gives him away.
