An udāharaṇa illustrating garva, 'pride' — the transient emotion (vyabhicāri-bhāva) shown here in a pura-sundarī, the queen Lakṣmaṇā, as she narrates choosing Kṛṣṇa at her own svayaṁvara. Viśvanātha names it at the close: 'sva-garvo vyañjitaḥ,' her pride is made to shine through. From Bhāgavata 10.83.29.

Jīva sets the frame: this is Lakṣmaṇā's own story. She had come to the svayaṁvara to choose her husband, and here she narrates that deed herself.

Jīva unpacks it. The face is the one described by 'uru-kuntala…'. 'Unnīya' means she raised it up — and why raise it? Because otherwise she could not have seen Murāri, whom she had resolved to choose. Then, on Murāri's shoulder, she laid her own garland, woven by her own hand for the choosing. 'Nidadhe' he reads as 'I laid it' — for Lakṣmaṇā herself is speaking.

Viśvanātha reads the looking differently from Jīva. She scans the kings ranged on all four sides not to weigh them as suitors, but wondering, 'Where is Śrī Kṛṣṇa seated — he alone whom I mean to choose, matchless in beauty and virtue?' The sense is: she looks around only to seek him out.

By all of this, says Viśvanātha, her own pride is made to shine through — and that pride (garva) is the transient emotion this verse illustrates.
Here Viśvanātha names the vyabhicāri-bhāva: garva, 'pride' — 'sva-garvo vyañjitaḥ,' her own pride is suggested by the whole scene.
