candrāvalītithe verse beginning 'candrāvalī…' (pratīka — the catch-word tag naming the verse being introduced)'चन्द्रावली' इत्यादि (यह पद्य)
kadācit saṁsadi candrāvalī-saundarya-kṛta-kaṭākṣāyāṁ lalitāyāṁ [sati] padmā sa-saṁrambham 'candrāvalī' iti āha — once, in the assembly, when Lalitā cast a sidelong glance over Candrāvalī's beauty, Padmā, indignant, speaks [the verse] 'candrāvalī…'.
Viśvanātha sets the scene. In the gathering, Lalitā — from Rādhā's camp — throws a pointed sidelong glance at the mention of Candrāvalī's beauty. Padmā, Candrāvalī's own friend, fires back hotly, in a rush of indignation, and speaks the verse 'candrāvalī…'. That heat is exactly the pride in beauty (rūpa-garva) the verse is set here to illustrate.

marīci-puñjenameans: by the mass of rays — supply this as its antecedent (instrumental)किरण-समूह के द्वारा
yena = marīci-puñjena — 'by which' stands for 'by the mass of rays.'
A one-word grammatical fix: the verse's yena ('by which') points back to the marīci-puñja, the mass of rays. It is the radiance, and nothing else, by which Kṛṣṇa was drawn to the forest huts.

(23)
(23)editorial cross-reference numeral (23) carried over from the source — not part of the sentence(२३)
(23) — a bare parenthetical numeral; there is nothing to construe.
This is a stray editorial numeral, '(23)', carried through from the printed source — an alternate cross-numbering of the verse, not part of Viśvanātha's Sanskrit. Nothing here to decode.
Emitted by the parser as a lone parenthetical token; most likely an alternate verse-count from the edition the commentary was set from.
