prāyaṁfor the most part, chiefly reading with the lead-in, this closes the compound sāhasa-prāyaṁ, 'consisting mostly of daring'प्रायः — अर्थात् (साहस-)प्रधान, जो अधिकांशतः (साहस से) भरा हुआ था

kiñcid upariventuring somewhat 'on top' — in the superior position Viśvanātha (s5) flags this as rahasya, a veiled erotic hintकुछ ऊपर की ओर (एक गूढ़ संकेत, जिसे खोलकर नहीं कहा जाता)
prārambhiwas launched, undertaken impersonal passive; the doer (Rādhā) is supplied by Viśvanātha at s4आरम्भ किया गया (कर्मवाच्य; करने वाली आगे बताई जाएगी)

yat — the venture which; prāyaṁ kānta-jayāya — chiefly to defeat her lover; kiñcid upari — [going] somewhat on top; sambhramāt — out of a flurried rush; prārambhi — was launched [by her]
Here is the love-battle Rādhā threw herself into — mostly to overpower her lover, daring to take the 'upper' position, launched in a flurry of excitement.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) quoted from Śrī Gīta-govinda 12.12. By its catchword 'ratena' (see the section lead-in) it is adduced to illustrate the transient bhāva as it arises through rata, love-union: Rādhā's total collapse in the aftermath of the amorous 'battle.'

Her chest heaving, her eyes fallen shut — how could women ever carry off the man's part? The active, dominating role in love is simply beyond a woman's stamina.
pauruṣa-rasa: pauruṣa is 'manliness,' the male's aggressive, sustaining role; here, in the erotic 'battle,' the dominant superior position Rādhā tried to take. The rhetorical question (kutaḥ … api tu na eva) answers itself: no, women cannot keep it up.

sakhyaḥ — the girlfriends; parasparaṁ — among themselves; śrī-rādhā-kṛṣṇayo rahasya-līlām — the secret pastime of Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa; āsvādayanti — relish; māraḥ — the word māra [means] kandarpaḥ, Cupid; śleṣeṇa — and by pun; prahāraḥ — a blow
Viśvanātha first sets the scene: the sakhīs are savoring Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa's private love-play among themselves, and this is what they describe. Then he opens the verse's key pun: māra means Cupid — but by śleṣa it also means a blow, a strike. So the coming word mārāṅka carries both senses at once: 'marked by Cupid' and 'marked by the blows of the love-battle.'

He parses mārāṅka as a bahuvrīhi: the thing in which the aṅka — the mark — is present. Given the pun just drawn, 'in that battle stamped with the mark of Cupid / of blows.'
