Kṛṣṇa is telling his friend Viśākhā what happened at their very first meeting, the first day of love-play. He had teased Rādhā: 'O lotus-lady, this poor bee is dying of thirst — take pity on him, let him have your nectar, just say yes.' The moment he begged her like this for love, fear welled up in the middle of the banter. That fear broke her voice, and all she could stammer was 'no, no.'
sādhvasa is glossed bhaya — the fear the verse illustrates (bhīter yathā). Its bodily sign here is the faltering, broken voice, skhalitā gīḥ.
'साध्वस' का अर्थ 'भय' किया गया है — वही भय जिसका यह श्लोक उदाहरण है ('भीतेर्यथा')। यहाँ उसका शारीरिक चिह्न है लड़खड़ाई हुई, टूटती वाणी — 'स्खलिता गीः'।

vāhayāmāsa= caused it to be carried, made it flowअर्थात् 'वाहयामास' (बहा दिया) — यही 'अवीवहत्' का अर्थ है
madira-īkṣaṇā khañjana-akṣī iti — 'wine-eyed' means 'wagtail-eyed'; kaṭākṣeṇa dattānumatiḥ sā — she who gave consent by a sidelong glance; avīvahat vāhayāmāsa — 'she made flow' = caused it to be carried.
'Wine-eyed' means her eyes were restless and darting like a wagtail's — intoxicating. And here is the point: while her words said 'no, no,' her eyes said yes. By a single sidelong glance she gave her consent. So avīvahat simply means 'she made it flow' — she sent that river of nectar into Kṛṣṇa's ear.
khañjana is the wagtail, a small bird in constant flitting motion; its restless flicker is the image for the darting, intoxicated play of her eyes.
