Viśvanātha sets the scene. Kṛṣṇa is trying to soften the sulking Rādhā with bows and the like. Lalitā scolds him: 'Why bow to Rādhā here? Get away at once — go over there and fall at her feet again and again!' Even so, Kṛṣṇa keeps coming, waiting for some word to escape Rādhā's lips. To this Kṛṣṇa, Vṛndā speaks the verse 'vṛthā…'.
For Viśvanātha the speaker is Vṛndā and the verse is addressed to Kṛṣṇa. (Jīva instead takes Lalitā as the self-naming speaker.)

vicikitsitāni — the verse's 'doubts' = sandehān; 'śrī-rādhā sva-mukhena kiṁcin madhuraṁ vā māṁ vakṣyati' iti — namely 'will Rādhā say something sweet to me with her own mouth?'; vṛthā mā kṛthāḥ — do not make [them] in vain.
Viśvanātha fills in the doubt Kṛṣṇa is having: 'Will Rādhā, with her own mouth, say something sweet to me?' Vṛndā says: don't torment yourself with that doubt for nothing.

vicikitsā tu saṁśayaḥ ity amaraḥ |
vicikitsā tu saṁśayaḥ'vicikitsā means doubt' tu is the kośa's listing particle, no argument work'विचिकित्सा' का अर्थ है संशय
iti amaraḥso says the Amara-kośaऐसा अमरकोश कहता है
'vicikitsā tu saṁśayaḥ' iti amaraḥ — 'vicikitsā means doubt', so the Amara-kośa.
He backs the gloss from the dictionary: the Amara-kośa says vicikitsā means saṁśaya, doubt.
Why cited: Lexical proof that vicikitsā — hence the verse's vicikitsitāni — means 'doubt', supporting the gloss sandehān.

vādayituḥ citta-sthaṁ gītamthe song seated in the player's mind gen. vādayituḥ: of the one who playsबजाने वाले के चित्त में स्थित गीत को (षष्ठी 'वादयितुः' — बजाने वाले का)
vīṇā ivajust as a vīṇā [sounds it out]वीणा के समान
yataḥ — because; rādhāyāḥ antarasthāṁ hṛdaya-sthāṁ giram — Rādhā's speech lodged within her heart; lalitā sva-vacanena vyanakti — Lalitā reveals through her own words; vīṇā iva — just as a vīṇā [reveals] vādayituḥ citta-sthaṁ gītam — the song lodged in the player's mind.
Here is the reason. What is really Rādhā's — the words seated in her heart — Lalitā brings into the open in her own voice. Read the simile: the vīṇā is Lalitā; the player is Rādhā; the song already in the player's mind is Rādhā's inner speech. The vīṇā only sounds out what the player already holds — so Lalitā only voices what is already Rādhā's. That is why the doubt is groundless.
