tava hṛdi mama rāgāt ko’pi rāgo gariṣṭhaḥ
tava hṛdiin your heart locative — where the rāga sitsतेरे हृदय में
mama rāgātgreater than my rāga — the garment means 'than my red dye' ablative of comparison; rāga carries the śleṣa — 'redness' (of the cloth) and 'passion' (of the heart)मेरे राग की अपेक्षा (राग = वस्त्र की लाली और हृदय का अनुराग — दोनों)
ko’pi rāgaḥsome rāga there is no words for — here 'passion' ko'pi = 'a certain, indescribable'; the same word rāga, now in its heart-senseकोई एक अनिर्वचनीय राग (यहाँ राग = अनुराग)
gariṣṭhaḥ[is] weightier, outweighs itकहीं अधिक गहरा (बढ़-चढ़कर) है
tava hṛdi — in your heart; ko'pi rāgaḥ — some indescribable rāga; mama rāgāt gariṣṭhaḥ — outweighs my own rāga.
Kṛṣṇa imagines the garment speaking to Rādhā: 'In your heart, there is some indescribable rāga far greater than mine.' The whole verse rides on one pun. For the cloth, rāga is its madder-red dye; in her heart, rāga is passion. The red garment concedes that her inner redness outweighs its own.
An udāharaṇa of uttarīya-sraṁsana, 'the slipping-down of the upper garment' — the anubhāva named in the lead-in (uttarīya-sraṁsanaṁ, yathā—). The verse displays that symptom, not defines it.

etaṁ — this [rāga]; sphurati — it is already shining out; tat — so; apasṛtya — drawing aside; vyaktaṁ karomi — I make it visible.
The garment goes on: 'That rāga is already showing itself; so let me slip aside and make it plain for everyone to see.' The red cloth, now outshone and redundant, reasons its own way off her body.

So indeed, O Rādhikā, from your very bosom — that same cloth which had been blocking the rāga from view — steps aside. rodhakāri names its old job: it was the screen hiding your heart's redness, and now it withdraws.

mañju māñjiṣṭha-vāsaḥ — the lovely madder-red garment; me purataḥ — before me; cyutam iva — has as-if fallen.
'...the lovely madder-red garment has, as though of its own accord, fallen before me.' The iva is the whole poetic device: Kṛṣṇa pretends the cloth slipped down deliberately, having reasoned all this out. Really it slipped because Rādhā, catching sight of him, lost her composure — and he is teasing her over it.
mañjiṣṭhā is the madder plant, source of a fast, deep-red dye; a māñjiṣṭha-vāsas is cloth coloured with it — hence the cloth's own 'rāga', its redness, that the pun plays against.

iti vā — 'thus, or [so]'; iti anvayaḥ — that is the construction.
Jīva gives just a one-line syntax note: read the connection as 'iti vā', 'thus, or [so it thought].' The small added vā keeps the garment's whole speculation tentative — a guess — which matches the iva, the 'as-if', of the last line.

Viśvanātha sets the scene: the sight of Kṛṣṇa flustered Rādhā, her upper garment slipped, and Kṛṣṇa, watching it slip, teases her with this verse. From him we have the speaker (Kṛṣṇa), the one teased (Rādhā), and the cause (her catching sight of him).

Viśvanātha walks the grammar: 'O Rādhā — your madder-red garment is the doer. Having reasoned as above, it slipped out from your bosom in front of me.' The key move is making the cloth the subject: it does not merely fall, it 'decides' and falls. cyutam is glossed niḥsṛtam, 'slipped out'.

pakṣe krodhātin the other reading, rāga = 'anger' śleṣa: the same rāga also carries the sense krodha, the second layer left openदूसरे पक्ष में 'क्रोध' से (यहाँ राग = क्रोध — श्लेष का दूसरा स्तर)

Here Viśvanātha foregrounds the pun. Read it as the garment talking. 'My rāga' the cloth means as 'my redness' (raktiman); but pakṣe — in the second reading — rāga is 'anger' (krodha). And 'the rāga in your heart' is passion, beyond words. So one word, rāga, holds three shades at once: the cloth's red dye, anger, and passion — and Viśvanātha leaves the second layer standing open, not collapsed into one.

Viśvanātha closes with the dhvani, the punchline under the joke. The surface: the garment slips off to publicize her heart's rāga. But 'by that very tease' Kṛṣṇa is really saying: 'Beloved Rādhā — if your cloth has stalked off in jealousy, let it go; who cares? Let my own heart now cover this rāga instead, with love.' And so saying, he suddenly embraces her — his chest taking over the fallen garment's covering work. That embrace, Viśvanātha says, is what the verse actually suggests.
dhvani — the 'suggested' meaning an alaṅkārika prizes above the stated one: here the tease about a slipping cloth is the surface, the sudden embrace is what it truly conveys.
