L1definition
audāryaṁ vinayaṁ prāhuḥ sarvāvasthāgataṁ budhāḥ ||
audāryaṁaudārya — nobility of bearing [is the term being defined] accusative; the topic word, picked up from the lead-in 'atha audāryam—'औदार्य को (जिसका लक्षण कहा जा रहा है)
vinayaṁto be vinaya — humble, modest bearing accusative predicate: they call audārya to BE vinayaविनय (ही) — यही औदार्य का स्वरूप ठहराया जाता है
prāhuḥso they declare / so they name itकहते हैं
sarva-avasthā-gataṁwhen it stays present in every state and condition modifies vinaya; -gata 'gone into, reaching' = pervading all states — the load-bearing word the illustration turns onसब अवस्थाओं में पहुँचा हुआ, अर्थात् हर दशा में बना रहने वाला (विनय)
budhāḥthe wise [are the ones who so declare] nominative, subject of prāhuḥविद्वान् लोग
budhāḥ — the wise; sarva-avasthā-gataṁ vinayaṁ — humility that persists in every state; audāryaṁ prāhuḥ — call audārya.
The wise give audārya this definition: humility (vinaya) that stays present in every single state. Whatever condition she is in — pleased or provoked — the modest, deferential bearing never drops away. That constancy of humility, holding through all states, is what they name audārya, nobility.
The lakṣaṇa (definition) of audārya, taken up here under the lead-in 'atha audāryam—'. The whole point rides on sarva-avasthā-gata, 'present in every state': the vinaya must hold even in anger — which is exactly what the illustration (L2-L5) shows.

The udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) for audārya, defined in L1 as vinaya present in every state. Quoted from Vidagdha-mādhava 7.40 (lead-in: 'yathā vidagdha-mādhave (7.40)—'). Spoken by Śrī Kṛṣṇa to Madhumaṅgala (per Viśvanātha, s1), describing Candrāvalī (per Viśvanātha, s2): though inwardly angry, her graciousness let the anger surface only through sincere, humble, reverential signs — vinaya holding even in her māna.

manyuṁthe anger, the sulking resentment [her māna]क्रोध (मन्यु) को

dākṣiṇyamher gracious courtesy — the obliging kindness of a gentle heroine nominative, subject; the very thing that does the uncoveringदाक्षिण्य (सौजन्य) ही — जो स्वयं यह उघाड़ने का काम करता है
evaof all things — her graciousness itself, and nothing else eva marks the paradox: it is grace, not concealment, that exposes the angerही — यहाँ विरोधाभास पर बल: छिपाना नहीं, अपितु सौजन्य ही क्रोध को उघाड़ता है
dākṣiṇyam eva — her graciousness itself, of all things; hṛdi manyuṁ — the anger hidden in her heart; suṣṭhu vyavṛṇuta — thoroughly laid it bare.
And her graciousness itself — of all things — thoroughly laid bare the anger hidden in her heart. Normally courtesy would conceal such anger; here, because she was so guileless and gracious, the very graciousness let the anger show. It surfaced, but only through sincere glances, humble words, and reverential eagerness — never through harshness. That is audārya: vinaya holding firm even inside her anger.
The striking turn of the verse: dākṣiṇya, which one expects to hide anger, is what discloses it (vyavṛṇuta, 'lays bare'). This ties back to sāralya (L2): a guileless woman does not crookedly conceal, so her nobility displays even her anger — but nobly. This is why it illustrates audārya rather than mere pretense.

suṣṭhu iti — 'as for the word suṣṭhu': the lemma Jīva picks up to gloss.
Jīva picks up the word suṣṭhu, 'thoroughly, fully,' to spell out what it adds to 'dākṣiṇya' in the verse.

iti arthaḥthat is the sense [of suṣṭhu here]ऐसा अर्थ है
svābhāvikaṁ dākṣiṇyam atikramya — going beyond her natural graciousness; āropitam — [it is] a heightened, superimposed one; iti arthaḥ — that is the sense.
Jīva reads suṣṭhu as marking a graciousness that goes beyond her natural one — an extra, heightened graciousness laid on over her ordinary courtesy. So 'suṣṭhu dākṣiṇya' is not merely her usual kindness but graciousness raised to an extreme pitch.
Watch this against Viśvanātha (s3), who reads the same graciousness as simply Candrāvalī's svabhāva, her plain nature. Jīva calls it āropita — superimposed, beyond the natural; Viśvanātha calls it natural. The Study does not reconcile the two.

That heightened graciousness laid bare the very anger that had risen in her heart. Jīva's point: it was the graciousness itself — carried to excess — that ended up exposing the concealed anger, rather than hiding it.

And it is exactly this thoroughness (suṣṭhutā) that the poet shows through the earlier lines beginning 'kā api...' — the guileless sidelong glance, the humble praise-filled speech, the reverential eagerness. Those three signs demonstrate just how complete (suṣṭhu) her graciousness was.

Viśvanātha sets the scene: Śrī Kṛṣṇa is speaking to Madhumaṅgala — the verse that begins 'nyaviśata.' So the whole description is Kṛṣṇa recounting to his friend how Candrāvalī behaved toward him.
Madhumaṅgala is Kṛṣṇa's brāhmaṇa companion; the verse is Kṛṣṇa's own report of the scene. The heroine described is fixed as Candrāvalī in s2.

This gracious conduct, Viśvanātha concludes, is for the most part just Candrāvalī's own nature. She is a dakṣiṇā heroine — the gentle, obliging type — so behaving graciously even when provoked is simply how she is.
A dakṣiṇā-nāyikā is the even-tempered, obliging heroine who does not vent jealousy or anger harshly, even when the hero favours a rival. Note the tension with Jīva (s2): Jīva called this graciousness āropita, heightened beyond her natural; Viśvanātha calls it her plain svabhāva. The Study leaves the two readings unreconciled.
