pitur goṣṭhe sphīte kusumini purā khāṇḍava-vane
pitur goṣṭheat your father's cowherd-homestead pituḥ (gen.) 'your father's'; goṣṭha is a cattle-station, a herdsman's settlementतुम्हारे पिता के गोष्ठ में — गोष्ठ अर्थात् ग्वालों की बस्ती, गायों का ठिकाना
sphītewhich was flourishing locative, agreeing with the forest belowउस फैले-फूले, समृद्ध (वन में) — सप्तमी, नीचे के वन का विशेषण
purāback then, in the old daysपहले, किसी समय
khāṇḍava-vanethere in the Khāṇḍava forestखाण्डव नामक वन में
purā — back then; pitur goṣṭhe — at your father's homestead; sphīte kusumini khāṇḍava-vane — in the flourishing, blossoming Khāṇḍava forest.
A friend is teasing the heroine. Back then, she says, at your father's place, the flourishing Khāṇḍava forest all in bloom. She sets the earlier scene, the girl's natal home, before springing the contrast to come.
An udāharaṇa of bhāva, 'the first change in an otherwise still mind' defined at 11.6-7. Here that change appears as nayana-cāñcalya, restlessness of the eyes. Viśvanātha names it outright at the close of his comment: prathama-vikāro nayana-cāñcalyaṁ bhāva-lakṣaṇam, 'the first change, the eyes' restlessness, is the mark of bhāva.'

te manaḥ — your mind; saṅkrandanam api dṛṣṭvā — even on seeing Saṅkrandana, Indra; spandanaṁ na agāt — did not go to a throb, did not stir.
Even when you saw Saṅkrandana, Indra himself, your mind did not stir a hair. Indra is a marvel to look upon. The 'even' (api) drives the point home: not even that could shake her.

But now, my friend, here in Vṛndāvana, with Mukunda playing joyfully right in front of you. The scene flips: the very same still-hearted girl, a new place, and this time Kṛṣṇa is present.

kim āndolād akṣṇaḥ śruti-kumudam indīvaram abhūt ||
kimhow is it that —? opens a wondering question, an utprekṣāक्या — एक विस्मयपूर्ण प्रश्न (उत्प्रेक्षा) खोलता है
āndolādfrom the swinging ablative of cause; āndola = a swing, a tossing to-and-froहिलने-डुलने के कारण — हेतु में पंचमी; आन्दोल अर्थात् झूला, इधर-उधर डोलना
akṣṇaḥof your eye genitiveआँख का — षष्ठी
śruti-kumudamthe white lotus (kumuda) worn at your ear śruti = the ear; kumuda is the pale night-lotusकान का कुमुद — श्रुति अर्थात् कान; कुमुद वह श्वेत (रात्रि में खिलने वाला) कमल
indīvaram abhūtturned into a blue lotus indīvara = the dark-blue lotus; abhūt 'became'नील कमल बन गया — इन्दीवर अर्थात् गहरा नीला कमल; 'अभूत्' अर्थात् हो गया
kim — is it that; akṣṇaḥ āndolāt — from the swinging of your eye; śruti-kumudam — the white lotus at your ear; indīvaram abhūt — became a blue lotus?
How is it that the pale lotus at your ear has turned blue? Your eye must have swung all the way up to it and tinged it dark. It is a poetic fancy: her eye darted so far in a sidelong glance at Kṛṣṇa that its own dark hue seemed to dye the white ear-lotus into a blue one. That darting of the eye is the whole point.
The turn is an utprekṣā, a poetic 'is it that…?': the dark, restless eye swings up to the ear, where a pale kumuda lotus is worn, and seems to stain it into a dark indīvara. The image is built to display the one thing being defined, the eyes' restlessness.

Jīva reads the verse in two moods. The first half, at your father's flowering forest, the friend floats only to tease, a playful 'suppose you did.' Then the second half, now in Vṛndāvana, she delivers as if amazed. Mock-supposition, then mock-wonder.

The little word api, Jīva notes, is concessive here. It means 'even granting that you saw Indra', a supposition tossed in for the teasing.

Setting the joke aside, Jīva gives the straight grammar. The subject is 'the mind'; seeing Indra, the mind did not go to a stir. He is fixing who acts, the mind, and what it did not do, throb, so the sentence parses cleanly.

Here is the payoff, says Jīva. By the crooked, teasing phrasing of the second half, one thing gets proved: the sweetness of Mukunda, his alone, stands above all. Indra, a marvel, left her cold; Mukunda, merely at play, set her eyes darting. The wonder-question quietly establishes his supremacy.

In these words, formerly… the blossoming forest, Viśvanātha finds the uddīpana-vibhāva named: the stock stimulant of love, a forest in flower. Note the setup: the kindling cause was already present at the father's home.
In rasa-theory the vibhāva, the cause of the mood, splits into the ālambana, the person the love rests on (here Kṛṣṇa), and the uddīpana, the surrounding things that inflame it (spring, flowers, moonlight). A flowering forest is a textbook uddīpana.

This deliberately echoes the definition-verse, 'when a cause of change is present' (11.7). Cause present, effect absent.

Now the conclusion. 'puraḥ' simply means 'in front'. As Mukunda played before her, she stole a corner-of-the-eye look at him, and her eye swung up so hard toward her ear that the white lotus worn there seemed to turn dark blue, dyed by the darting eye. Viśvanātha then names what the whole verse illustrates: this first bodily change, the restlessness of the eyes, is the defining mark of bhāva.
The payoff of the udāharaṇa: it exists to show nayana-cāñcalya, the flicker of the eyes, as bhāva's first outward sign, the prathama-vikriyā of 11.6.
