An udāharaṇa illustrating parvata-uddhāraḥ, 'the lifting of the mountain' (the unit's lead-in), given here as an uddīpana-vibhāva (an excitant of rasa). Rādhā speaks the verse to her friend Viśākhā (so Viśvanātha).

tamhim (Kṛṣṇa) — the accusative object of 'having lifted'उस (पर्वत) को

'Brother of Mandara' means a mountain that is Mandara's equal. Jīva then resolves the whole compound as a bahuvrīhi: 'him by whom that Mandara-like mountain was turned into a ball' — that is, Kṛṣṇa, the object of udyamya.
'मन्दर-सहोदर' अर्थात् मन्दराचल के समान पर्वत; जिस (कृष्ण) के द्वारा वह (उठाया गया), उसको।

ṣage ṣṭage saṁvaraṇe dhātuḥ ||

saṁvaraṇe[listed] in the sense of 'covering, concealing'ढकने / संवरण के अर्थ में
dhātuḥis the root [from which sthagayan is formed]धातु
dhātuḥ — the root ṣṭag (ṣage / ṣṭage); saṁvaraṇe — in the meaning 'covering.'
Viśvanātha backs his gloss grammatically: sthagayan comes from the root ṣṭag, which the dhātupāṭha lists in the sense of saṁvaraṇa, 'covering, concealing.' That is why he read it as 'placing the hand covered.'
Why cited: cites the dhātupāṭha entry ṣṭag — saṁvaraṇe to justify glossing sthagayan as 'concealing / covering.'
