ādadhānam — [the lotus-face] giving off; āmodanam — a gladdening; āmodam — fragrance
Her lotus-face was giving off a fragrance — and that fragrance brought joy.
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) of mārdava — the body's softness or delicacy — from Rasa-sudhākara 1.186. The lead-in marks it kaniṣṭha, the lowest grade: the softness that is not bound up with Kṛṣṇa (so Viśvanātha at s11). The friend of the gopī Padmā speaks it to another friend (so Viśvanātha at s1).

Even the sun's gentle ray turned it copper-red — so tender was her skin. That extreme softness is the mārdava the verse illustrates.

He unpacks the bee-image. Sweat made the dark curls cling to the edge of her brow. Those clinging curls are the 'bees' of the verse — cañcarīka is simply another word for bhramara, a bee. So the compound names the face on which such curl-bees have settled.

So the discoloration from softness happens only when rāga has not surged — in states like kalahāntaritā, where the woman is cut off by a quarrel and has no hope of meeting Kṛṣṇa. Only then does her delicate skin pale.
