citraṁ dhaniṣṭhe tanu-vāsaso’pi
citramit is a marvel! — the opening exclamation of wonder (predicate nominative)आश्चर्य की बात है
dhaniṣṭheO Dhaniṣṭhā — addressing her by nameहे धनिष्ठा
tanu-vāsasaḥof a thin, fine garment genitive; construes ahead with saṅgamena in L2 — 'the touch OF a garment'पतले वस्त्र के (आगे L2 के 'saṅgamena' से जुड़ता है — वस्त्र के स्पर्श से)
apieven — from so slight a thing as a garmentभी (इतने पतले वस्त्र से भी)
citram — a marvel!; dhaniṣṭhe — O Dhaniṣṭhā; tanu-vāsasaḥ api — of even a thin, fine garment [whose touch will follow].
What a marvel, O Dhaniṣṭhā! Even from a thin garment—
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse). Its lead-in reads 'tatra uttamam—; madhyamaṁ, yathā—' ('among these the best is—; the middling, for example—'), so this verse illustrates the madhyama (middling) grade of the uddīpana (excitant) under discussion in prakaraṇa 10.

cīna: fine cloth from the country of that name; so both Jīva and Viśvanātha gloss it below.

liptā ivaas if it had been smeared iva marks an utprekṣā (poetic fancy); liptā (fem.) agrees with mūrtiḥ in L4मानो लिप्त की गई हो — 'iva' उत्प्रेक्षा का सूचक; 'liptā' (स्त्री.)
te — your [body]; lohita-candanena liptā iva — as if smeared with red sandal-paste.
your body looks as if it were smeared with red sandal-paste,
The figure is utprekṣā: the reddening is fancied as a smearing of red sandal, though nothing was actually applied.

sakhi — O friend; te mūrtiḥ — your body; lohita-candanena bindunā liptā iva — as if smeared with a single drop of red sandal-paste; lohitā āsīt — turned red.
O friend—it has turned red, as though from a single drop of that paste. The whole marvel: even the touch of the softest silk reddens so tender a body.
Viśvanātha names Lalitā as the speaker (below). The reddening from mere silk is itself the uddīpana — the delicacy of the body inflames the mood.
