kastūrikā-patrakaṁ — your musk leaf-designs; te bhramarakaiḥ — by your own curling locks; punar-uktatām nītaṁ — have been reduced to mere repetition.
Kṛṣṇa to Rādhā: the musk leaf-work painted on your forehead has been made redundant by your dark curls. The curls already do that work, so the painted design only says the same thing twice.
This four-line verse is an udāharaṇa — an illustrative verse quoted from Vidagdha-mādhava 7.48, spoken in Kṛṣṇa's voice — for the uddīpana-vibhāva of Rādhā's own bodily radiance: her limbs shine 'as if adorned' (bhūṣitavad bhānti, so Viśvanātha), so that real ornaments become superfluous. bhramaraka names the curved forehead-locks; the word carries the sense of 'bees' (from bhramara), the dark curling locks being likened to hovering bees — Viśvanātha settles it plainly as alaka, 'curls' (see s3).

And your pearl necklace — the bright waves of your smile have completely outdone it. Its white glow is now like grinding flour that is already ground: the smile's brightness does the very same job, and better.
piṣṭa-anu-peṣī-kṛta, 'grinding again what is already ground,' is a proverbial image for wasted, redundant effort. The white brilliance of the smile already outshines the white pearls, so the necklace adds nothing.

Jīva points to the poet's craft. 'Punar-ukta,' 'viphalī-kṛta,' 'piṣṭānupeṣī-kṛta' — three words that all say the same thing: 'made useless.' But the poet says it a fresh way each time. That variety of diction is what gives the lines their rasa.

Viśvanātha explains why this verse follows. In the previous illustration the idea 'her limbs shine as though adorned' was present in sense but never stated outright. Rūpa, not satisfied to leave it unsaid, gives a second example — 'yathā vā' — in which the idea is put explicitly.
'मानो अलंकृत हों वैसे शोभित होते हैं' — यह अर्थ यहाँ शब्दों से सीधे नहीं कहा गया; इससे असंतुष्ट रहकर विश्वनाथ 'यथा वा' कहकर [यह दूसरा उदाहरण] देते हैं।

bhramarakair alakaiḥ ||
bhramarakaiḥ'by the bhramaraka' [in the verse]'भ्रमरकैः' अर्थात्
alakaiḥmeans 'by the curling locks' (alaka)अलकों के द्वारा — घुँघराले केश
bhramarakaiḥ — the verse's word bhramaraka; alakaiḥ — [is glossed as] the curls, alaka.
'Bhramaraka' here means the curling forehead-locks — alaka. So the redundant musk-designs are outdone by her own dark curls.
bhramaraka literally evokes bhramara, 'bee': the dark, curved forehead-locks are so named for their bee-like look. Viśvanātha settles the sense plainly as alaka, 'curls,' fixing which of the word's two senses is meant.
