L1definition
upahāso vipakṣasya sākṣād uddhasitaṁ bhavet ||
vipakṣasyaat a rival — the opposing gopī genitive: the one who is mockedप्रतिपक्ष का — अर्थात् जिसका उपहास किया जाता है उसका
sākṣātright to her face, openlyप्रत्यक्ष रूप से, सामने ही
uddhasitaṁ bhavetis [what is called] uddhasita, derisive laughterवह उद्धसित कहलाता है
vipakṣasya upahāsaḥ — mockery of a rival; sākṣāt — done openly to her face; uddhasitaṁ bhavet — is uddhasita.
The last of the six kinds of pride is defined. When you mock a rival openly, to her face, that derisive laughter is uddhasita.
uddhasita is the sixth garva-variety listed in 9.20. This line (the tail of 9.28) gives its lakṣaṇa; the verse that follows (9.29) is its udāharaṇa.

durlabheover the thing you can't have Viśvanātha reads this as a locative, 'in the unattainable matter', not as a vocativeदुर्लभ वस्तु के विषय में — विश्वनाथ इसे सप्तमी मानते हैं, सम्बोधन नहीं
parame — O excellent one; na uccaiḥ niḥśvasihi — do not sigh loudly; prasīda — be calm; durlabhe — over the unattainable aim; muñca graham — let go of your insistence.
Viśākhā speaks to Padmā. Don't sigh so loudly; calm down, dear one. Give up this stubborn clinging to a thing you cannot get.
An udāharaṇa of uddhasita, the open mockery of a rival defined in the previous line (9.28). So Viśvanātha sets it: Viśākhā, of Rādhā's camp, mock-consoles Padmā, the friend of the rival Candrāvalī, on seeing that Kṛṣṇa has fallen in with Lalitā.

Seeing you so wilted, dear friend — alas — out of pity my own heart is in torment. The 'pity' is barbed: this whole consolation is the mockery of a rival that the lakṣaṇa named.

Look — he is caught, right here, in the twisting grand net of Lalitā's words. From here the verse runs as a double image: her speech is a hunter's deer-snare, and Kṛṣṇa the deer caught in it.
The verse turns to a two-layer image (rūpaka): Lalitā's speech is a deer-net (vāgurā), and Kṛṣṇa the deer in it. 'vibhaṅgura' reads twice — a net's loops, and the crooked charm of her talk.

And O guileless one, dark Śyāma — lord of the doe-eyed gopīs — doesn't even know his own self. On the image layer he is the stag, lord of does, so tangled in the net that he has lost himself. Even calling Padmā 'guileless' is the sting: she is too naive to see what is happening.
'kuraṅgī-pati' completes the deer-net image: a stag (deer-lord) snared, mirroring Śyāma, lord of the doe-eyed gopīs, entranced by Lalitā's words. Per Viśvanātha the upshot is that Kṛṣṇa will not come to Candrāvalī — he has forgotten even himself.

He backs the sense with a dictionary. The Viśva-prakāśa lists āḍambara as a grand commencement, an elephant's trumpeting, and a war-drum. The 'grand commencement' sense is the one that fits here.

Why cited: Cited from the Viśva-prakāśa lexicon to license reading āḍambara as 'grand deployment' (samārambha, ārambha) — the elaborate rigging of Lalitā's word-net.
