Viśvanātha sets the scene. A sakhī of Rādhā had brought Rādhā to the appointed bower; not finding Kṛṣṇa there, she slipped over to the slope of Govardhana to hunt for him. There, in some bower, she saw Kṛṣṇa sitting close with Candrāvalī, and stood a moment turning over what this would mean. Padmā spots her and knows exactly who she is. So, pretending to scold a mere firefly, she speaks with a jealous sting: 'O firefly! Making your glow flare all red, don't torment yourself — don't make yourself miserable.'
The verse works by apadeśa (disguised address): Padmā names a 'firefly' but aims every word at the flesh-and-blood Rādhā-sakhī. That pretense is the vehicle of the śleṣa the glosses below draw out.

tava manorathaḥ — your heart's wish; adya na setsyati — will not be fulfilled today; iti bhāvaḥ — such is the underlying sense.
The drift beneath the taunt: 'Your heart's wish won't come true today.' In plain terms — Rādhā will get no meeting with Kṛṣṇa now.

kṛṣṇa-varṇe meghe sā prasiddhā umā durgā tad-ābhā tad-varṇā |
kṛṣṇa-varṇe meghetake the black-colored cloud reading the megha-pakṣa, the surface nature-pictureकाले वर्णवाले मेघ के पक्ष में
sā prasiddhā umā durgā'somā' is that well-known goddess Umā, Durgāवह ('सोमा') प्रसिद्ध उमा — अर्थात् दुर्गा है
tad-ābhā tad-varṇāso somābhā means 'having her sheen, her hue' — bright as Umā'सोमाभा' का अर्थ — उसकी-सी आभावाली, उसी वर्णवाली
kṛṣṇa-varṇe meghe — on the black cloud; somā = sā prasiddhā umā durgā — 'somā' is the famed Umā, Durgā; tad-ābhā tad-varṇā — [somābhā =] one whose radiance and color are hers.
First the cloud-picture. Break somābhā as somā + ābhā, and read somā as the famous goddess Umā (Durgā). Then somābhā = 'bearing Umā's sheen and hue' — the lightning that gleams bright on the dark storm-cloud. It fits the scene neatly: Umā is the mountain's own daughter, and the cloud here clings to the great mountain.
Umā / Durgā: the goddess Pārvatī of Śaiva-Purāṇic lore, daughter of the mountain Himālaya and consort of Śiva. Viśvanātha reaches for her because the verse's 'great mountain' (girivara) is her home turf, so a mountain, a dark cloud, and an Umā-bright flash make one coherent tableau.

vidyut-pakṣe somābhā candrāvalī anurūpā yogyā ||
vidyut-pakṣenow take the lightning reading — the one Padmā actually means the second layer of the śleṣa, the drama beneath the nature-imageबिजली के पक्ष में (भीतरी अर्थ में)
somābhā candrāvalīhere 'Somābhā' is Candrāvalī'सोमाभा' अर्थात् चन्द्रावली
anurūpā yogyāand anurūpā just means 'suitable, a fit match''अनुरूपा' अर्थात् योग्य
vidyut-pakṣe — in the lightning reading; somābhā candrāvalī — Somābhā is Candrāvalī; anurūpā yogyā — anurūpā means 'a fit match'.
Now the layer Padmā is really driving at. In the lightning reading, 'Somābhā' is the gopī Candrāvalī, and anurūpā just means 'a suitable match.' So the barb lands: Candrāvalī, moon-bright, is the one fit to sport with Kṛṣṇa here — the firefly, Rādhā's sakhī, is not. The same words that paint lightning on a cloud say Candrāvalī has won the field today.
