He decodes the metaphor. The 'bolt' in the verse is the knot of the chaste wives' skirt-strings. That knot is the thing that bars the way.

And that bolt bars the door-panel of the house of Kandarpa, the god of love. So the whole picture is a locked house of desire, and the skirt-knot is the bolt holding its door shut.

Viśvanātha closes with a comparison. Picture a man standing outside a locked house. With one blow to the door-panel he shatters even the bolt-bar inside, and so shows off his strength. Now map it: the man is Kṛṣṇa; the door-panel is the outer barrier; the inner bolt is the skirt-knot, the women's chastity; the blow is the flute-sound. And mark this — the flute-sound is only his breath: the wind from his mouth, slipping into the holes of the bamboo, turned into music. If even that breath, from a distance, can burst the bolt, then — says Lalitā — 'I cannot imagine what strength he will show when he comes in person.' That is the inner point.
A dṛṣṭānta (analogy): the man striking the door = Kṛṣṇa; the door-panel = the outer barrier; the inner bolt = the chaste wives' skirt-knot, i.e. their chastity; the blow = the flute-sound. It proves the flute's power works from afar and needs only his breath; the a fortiori punchline (na jāne… iti bhāvaḥ) is where the analogy hands off — Lalitā leaves what Kṛṣṇa himself would do unstated.
