suramaṇī-ghaṭā-ślāghitāṁher [Campakāvalī], praised by throngs of lovely women (su-ramaṇī) — same syllables, split the other way accusative describing tām in L3; here suramaṇī = su-ramaṇī, beautiful womenसुन्दर रमणियों के समूह द्वारा जो सराही गई है, उस (तां) को
sphurat-sura-maṇi-prabhaḥ — you whose radiance is the flashing kaustubha gem; suramaṇī-ghaṭā-ślāghitāṁ — her, praised by throngs of lovely women.
sphurat-sura-maṇi-prabhaḥ — चमकते दिव्य कौस्तुभ मणि की-सी कान्ति वाला (कृष्ण); suramaṇī-ghaṭā-ślāghitāṁ — सुन्दर रमणियों के समूह से प्रशंसित उस (तां) को।
The verse opens on its pun. One and the same string of sounds reads two ways: for Kṛṣṇa, sura-maṇi is the kaustubha gem whose flash is his radiance; for Campakāvalī, su-ramaṇī is the lovely women whose throngs praise her. Every epithet in this verse will do the same double duty.
कृष्ण की कान्ति चमकते हुए कौस्तुभ मणि जैसी है। और वह नायिका (तां — L3 में) सुन्दर रमणियों के समूह द्वारा सराही जाती है। 'सुरमणि' और 'सु-रमणी' — यही श्लेष पूरे पद्य का आधार है।
An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) for the type of dūtī-speech named in the lead-in — tat-priyāyāḥ paścāt sākṣād vyaṅgyam, where the beloved is pointed to directly only at the end. The sakhī praises Kṛṣṇa through a śleṣa whose every epithet fits Campakāvalī too, naming her (campakāvalim) only in the last line.

The second epithet-pair turns on saurabha. For Kṛṣṇa it is his ever-beloved fragrance; for Campakāvalī it is the open scent she blazes with. The pun rides on whether saurabha is his personal fragrance or a garland's mass of scented flowers.

Now the cloud and its lightning. Kṛṣṇa is the dark, glowing rain-cloud (mudira); Campakāvalī is the fresh, golden lightning (nava-taḍit) that flashes across it. tām, 'her,' reaches ahead to campakāvalī, named only in the next line; asau, 'this very one,' points back at Mukunda himself.

Jīva first states the plain sense: without Campakāvalī — the gopī who actually bears that name — even you do not shine. He fixes campakāvalī as a real person here, not only as the flower-garland the pun also hears.

tasyā hi — क्योंकि उसकी; tvayi tādṛśatāyāṁ — तुम्हारे-जैसी होने के विषय में (सप्तमी); yogyatā asti — योग्यता है; iti śleṣeṇa āha — यह कहकर श्लेष से कहते हैं; sphurataḥ suramaṇeḥ kaustubhasya prabhā yatra saḥ — चमकते सुरमणि यानी कौस्तुभ की जिसमें कान्ति हो, वह (कृष्ण)।
Jīva gives the reason for the whole verse: Campakāvalī is fit to be Kṛṣṇa's match, so Rūpa speaks by śleṣa — every epithet a pun that fits both. He then decodes the first: sphurat-sura-maṇi-prabhaḥ = 'he in whom shines the radiance of the flashing sura-maṇi,' and sura-maṇi here means the kaustubha gem. That is the Kṛṣṇa side; the same sounds give su-ramaṇī, lovely women, for her.
क्योंकि तुम्हारे समान होने की योग्यता उसमें है — यह जताने को जीव श्लेष का सहारा लेते हैं। 'सुरमणि' को कौस्तुभ मानकर बहुव्रीहि खोलते हैं — जिसमें चमकते कौस्तुभ की कान्ति हो, वह कृष्ण।
śleṣa foregrounded: Jīva reads sura-maṇi as kaustubha (the divine gem) for Kṛṣṇa, while the same syllables give su-ramaṇī, 'lovely women,' for Campakāvalī. The pun is the engine of the argument that the two are fit for each other.
श्लेष को उभारा गया है — जीव 'सुरमणि' को कृष्ण के लिए कौस्तुभ (दिव्य मणि) पढ़ते हैं, जबकि वे ही अक्षर चम्पकावली के लिए 'सु-रमणी' (सुन्दर स्त्रियाँ) देते हैं। यही श्लेष इस तर्क का आधार है कि दोनों परस्पर योग्य हैं।

saurabhaṁ — saurabha; surabhī-samūhaḥ — [means] a cluster of fragrant flowers.
saurabhaṁ — 'सौरभ' का अर्थ; surabhī-samūhaḥ — सुगन्धित पुष्पों का समूह।
Jīva glosses saurabha one way: a cluster of fragrant flowers (surabhi is a scented plant). This is the garland side of that word.
यहाँ 'सौरभ' का अर्थ है सुगन्धित पुष्पों का समूह।
One limb of the pun on saurabha — the flower-mass for Campakāvalī's garland; s4 supplies the other limb, the scent itself, for Kṛṣṇa.
यह 'सौरभ' श्लेष का एक पक्ष है — चम्पकावली की माला के लिए पुष्पों का समूह; दूसरा पक्ष, स्वयं सुगन्ध, कृष्ण के लिए, s4 में आता है।

The second reading of saurabha is 'fragrance' — the scent itself, for Kṛṣṇa. Both readings stand at once: Campakāvalī's mass of flowers, and Kṛṣṇa's own fragrance. Neither cancels the other — that is how a śleṣa works.
दूसरा अर्थ है — वही सुगन्ध।
Marked as a second reading, not a replacement: in a śleṣa both senses of saurabha hold together — the flower-cluster (s3) and the fragrance (here).
यह दूसरा पाठ है, प्रतिस्थापन नहीं — श्लेष में 'सौरभ' के दोनों अर्थ साथ-साथ ठहरते हैं: पुष्प-समूह (s3) और सुगन्ध (यहाँ)।

Once more, by yet another quality, Rūpa shows the two are made for each other — this time in the phrase beginning mudira, 'rain-cloud.' The unstated point: a dark cloud and its lightning belong together, and so do Kṛṣṇa and Campakāvalī.

Now the other face of the pun. Viśvanātha splits suramaṇī as su-ramaṇī, 'lovely women,' so the epithet describes Campakāvalī: she is praised (ślāghitā, plainly stutā) by a whole throng of beautiful women. The very syllables that gave Kṛṣṇa his kaustubha gem now give her a crowd of admirers.

Viśvanātha's closing point: because the very same describing-words fit both her and you, it is fitting that you stand only in her company. The shared epithets — the whole śleṣa — are turned into the argument that the two belong together. That is the sakhī's real message, and the bhāva of the verse.
उसके और तुम्हारे विशेषण एक-से हैं, इसीलिए तुम्हारा उसी के साथ रहना उचित है — यही भाव है। विशेषणों की यह समानता ही वह श्लेष है जिस पर पूरा पद्य टिका है।
viśeṣaṇa-sāmya, 'sameness of the qualifiers,' is exactly the pun the verse is built on. Viśvanātha makes the śleṣa itself the reason for their union: the same words describe both, so the two should be together — the dūtī's argument, dressed as praise of Kṛṣṇa.
'विशेषण-साम्य' अर्थात् विशेषणों की समानता ठीक वही श्लेष है जिस पर पद्य रचा गया है। विश्वनाथ इस श्लेष को ही उनके मिलन का कारण बनाते हैं — एक ही शब्द दोनों का वर्णन करते हैं, इसलिए दोनों को साथ होना चाहिए — यह दूती का तर्क, कृष्ण-स्तुति के वेश में।
