kṛṣṇāguru-saurabhā tvam iha |
kṛṣṇāguru-saurabhāyou who bear the scent of black agarwood (kṛṣṇa-aguru) bahuvrīhi describing tvam; śleṣa — the same syllables also split as kāmita-kṛṣṇā + (a)guru-saurabhā, 'longing for Kṛṣṇa, richly fragrant'जो कृष्णागुरु (काले अगुरु) की सुगन्ध वाली है (बहुव्रीहि, तुम्हारा विशेषण) — इन्हीं अक्षरों का दूसरा भेद है 'कामित-कृष्णा' और '(अ)गुरु-सौरभा', अर्थात् जो कृष्ण की अभिलाषा करती है और अत्यन्त सुगन्धित है (श्लेष)
tvamyou (Rādhā, whom the sakhī addresses)तुम
ihahere, in this matterयहाँ
tvam — you (Rādhā); iha — here; kṛṣṇāguru-saurabhā — carry the scent of black agarwood (or, split: 'you who desire Kṛṣṇa and are richly fragrant').
kṛṣṇāguru-saurabhā — कृष्णागुरु की सुगन्ध वाली (श्लेष से — कृष्ण की अभिलाषा करने वाली, सुगन्धित); tvam — तुम; iha — यहाँ।
The sakhī is speaking to Rādhā. On the surface: 'You here carry the scent of the black agarwood you wanted.' But the same words split a second way — kāmita-kṛṣṇā, 'you who long for Kṛṣṇa,' plus (a)guru-saurabhā, 'richly fragrant, scented with his aguru.' Both senses are meant at once; that double layer is the whole point of the verse.
यहाँ तुम कृष्णागुरु की सुगन्ध से युक्त हो। पर इन्हीं अक्षरों को दूसरी तरह तोड़ने पर अर्थ बनता है — तुम कृष्ण की अभिलाषा करने वाली और भरपूर सुगन्धित हो। यही श्लेष का चमत्कार है।
An udāharaṇa of vyaṅgya (suggestive) speech — the mode in which the go-between (dūtī) delivers her message to Kṛṣṇa's beloved through śleṣa/double meaning rather than plain statement (kṛṣṇa-priyāyāṁ vyaṅgyam, from the lead-in). The speaker is a sakhī addressing Rādhā.
यह व्यंग्य (सूचक) वचन का उदाहरण है — वह ढंग जिससे दूती श्लेष अथवा द्वयर्थ के द्वारा कृष्ण की प्रिया तक अपना सन्देश पहुँचाती है, सीधे कथन से नहीं (मुखबन्ध में 'कृष्ण-प्रियायां व्यंग्यम्')। यहाँ बोलने वाली सखी है और वह राधा को सम्बोधित कर रही है।

bhavad-abhimatārtha-vidhaye — in order to accomplish the object you desire.
bhavad-abhimatārtha-vidhaye — तुम्हारे अभीष्ट प्रयोजन को सिद्ध करने के लिए।
'To carry out the aim you cherish' — a dative of purpose. In the surface reading it is your wish for the perfume; in the suggested reading it is your longing to reach Kṛṣṇa. The one phrase serves both errands.
तुम्हारे मन में जो चाहा हुआ प्रयोजन है, उसे पूरा करने के लिए।

naigama-savidhaṁ gamiṣyāmi ||
naigama-savidhaṁto the vicinity of the naigama — the merchant (surface) / the nāgara, i.e. Kṛṣṇa (suggested) accusative, goal of motion; savidha = 'nearness'; naigama carries the śleṣa (vaṇij / nāgara)नैगम के समीप (द्वितीया, गमन का लक्ष्य; सविध = 'समीपता'; नैगम शब्द में श्लेष — वणिक् / नागर)
gamiṣyāmiI will goमैं जाऊँगी
naigama-savidhaṁ — near the naigama (the merchant / the gallant Kṛṣṇa); gamiṣyāmi — I will go.
naigama-savidhaṁ — नैगम के निकट; gamiṣyāmi — मैं जाऊँगी।
'I will go near the naigama.' On the surface, to the merchant, to fetch the agarwood. In the suggestion, savidha 'nearby' the nāgara — the clever gallant, that is, Kṛṣṇa himself. So the errand to the shop is really the errand to Kṛṣṇa.
मैं नैगम के पास जाऊँगी। 'नैगम' शब्द में श्लेष है — यह वणिक् (व्यापारी) भी हो सकता है और नागर (रसिक) भी।

prathama-pakṣe — in the first reading; kāmita-kṛṣṇāguru-saurabhā iti — the phrase 'kāmita-kṛṣṇāguru-saurabhā'; ekaṁ padam — is one word.
prathama-pakṣe — पहले पक्ष में; kāmita-kṛṣṇāguru-saurabhā iti — 'कामित-कृष्णागुरु-सौरभा' यह; ekaṁ padam — एक पद है।
Jīva sets up the two layers. In the first (surface) reading, he takes 'kāmita-kṛṣṇāguru-saurabhā' as a single compound: 'she whose fragrance is that of the desired black agarwood' — the perfume sense.
पहले पक्ष में 'कामित-कृष्णागुरु-सौरभा' एक ही समस्त पद है।

In the second (suggested) reading, the same syllables break into two words: kāmita-kṛṣṇā, 'you who long for Kṛṣṇa,' and guru-saurabhā, 'you who are richly fragrant.' Note where Jīva draws the seam — kṛṣṇā | guru.
दूसरे पक्ष में 'कामित-कृष्णा' और 'गुरु-सौरभा' — ये दो अलग पद हैं।

naigamaḥ — the word naigama; vaṇik — [means] a merchant; nāgaraḥ ca — and a nāgara.
naigamaḥ — नैगम शब्द; vaṇik nāgaraḥ ca — वणिक् और नागर।
Jīva gives the pivot word its two senses: naigama means a merchant, and also a nāgara — a clever, worldly gallant. That double sense is what lets the last line carry both errands.
'नैगम' शब्द का अर्थ वणिक् भी है और नागर भी।

tat-kāmitatvenabecause he is the very one she desires instrumental of causeक्योंकि वह (राधा) उसी की अभिलाषा करती है (तृतीया, हेतु में)
prastutatvātand is therefore the topic at hand ablative of reasonप्रस्तुत होने के कारण (पंचमी, हेतु में)
śrī-kṛṣṇam eva bodhayatiit makes known Śrī Kṛṣṇa alone (eva)श्रीकृष्ण का ही बोध कराता है
tatra dvitīye — there, in the second reading; nāgaraḥ — the word nāgara; vidagdha-sāmānya-vācī api — though denoting a clever gallant in general; tat-kāmitatvena — because he is the one desired; prastutatvāt — and so is the topic; śrī-kṛṣṇam eva bodhayati — makes known Kṛṣṇa alone.
tatra dvitīye — उनमें दूसरे पक्ष में; nāgaraḥ — नागर शब्द; vidagdha-sāmānya-vācī api — यद्यपि किसी भी रसिक का वाचक है; tat-kāmitatvena — उसकी अभिलाषा के कारण; prastutatvāt — प्रस्तुत होने से; śrī-kṛṣṇam eva bodhayati — श्रीकृष्ण का ही बोध कराता है।
Now Jīva pins it down. In the suggested reading, 'nāgara' by itself would name any clever gallant. But because Kṛṣṇa is the one she longs for, he is the person actually under discussion — so here the word points to Kṛṣṇa and no one else.
इनमें दूसरे पक्ष में 'नागर' शब्द यद्यपि सामान्यतः किसी भी चतुर रसिक का वाचक है, फिर भी क्योंकि वही राधा का अभिलषित है और यहाँ वही प्रस्तुत है, इसलिए वह श्रीकृष्ण का ही बोध कराता है।

kāmitaṁ kṛṣṇāguroḥ saurabhaṁ yayā — she by whom the fragrance of black agarwood is desired (reading one); pakṣe — in the alternative; kāmita-kṛṣṇā aguru-saurabhā iti pada-dvayam — 'kāmita-kṛṣṇā' and 'aguru-saurabhā' are two words.
kāmitaṁ kṛṣṇāguroḥ saurabhaṁ yayā — जिसने कृष्णागुरु की सुगन्ध चाही; pakṣe — दूसरे पक्ष में; kāmita-kṛṣṇā aguru-saurabhā iti — 'कामित-कृष्णा' और 'अगुरु-सौरभा' ये; pada-dvayam — दो पद।
Viśvanātha spells out both layers. Reading one, as a bahuvrīhi: 'she who wants the scent of black agarwood.' In the alternative, the syllables become two words: kāmita-kṛṣṇā, 'you who long for Kṛṣṇa,' and aguru-saurabhā, 'you who bear the aguru-scent' — the fragrance carried over from Kṛṣṇa's own limbs. He sets the seam at kṛṣṇā | aguru.
एक पक्ष में यह बहुव्रीहि है — जिसने कृष्णागुरु की सुगन्ध की कामना की। दूसरे पक्ष में यह 'कामित-कृष्णा' और 'अगुरु-सौरभा' — ये दो पद बन जाते हैं।

naigamaḥ — नैगम शब्द; vaṇik nāgaraḥ ca — वणिक् और नागर।
Viśvanātha likewise gives naigama its two senses: merchant, and nāgara — the clever man-about-town.
'नैगम' शब्द का अर्थ वणिक् भी है और नागर भी।

naigamaḥ syāt upaniṣad — 'नैगम' उपनिषद् हो सकता है; vaṇijo nāgare 'pi ca — वणिक् और नागर के अर्थ में भी; iti viśvaḥ — ऐसा विश्व-कोश।
He backs the double sense with a dictionary: 'naigama may mean an Upaniṣad, and also a merchant and a nāgara' — so says the Viśva-prakāśa lexicon.
'नैगम' शब्द उपनिषद् के अर्थ में होता है, और वणिक् तथा नागर के अर्थ में भी — ऐसा विश्व-प्रकाश कोश कहता है।
Why cited: Adduced from the Viśva-prakāśa kośa to establish, on lexical authority, that naigama denotes both a merchant and a nāgara — which is what licenses the verse's double reading.
क्यों उद्धृत: विश्व-प्रकाश कोश से यह प्रमाण इसलिए उद्धृत किया गया है कि कोश की अधिकारिता से यह सिद्ध हो जाए कि 'नैगम' शब्द वणिक् और नागर दोनों का वाचक है — यही इस श्लोक के द्वयर्थ पाठ को आधार देता है।

sa cātra pratyāsattyā śrī-kṛṣṇa eva |
sa ca atraand that [nāgara], here in this verseऔर वह यहाँ
pratyāsattyāby contextual nearness — the nearest, most salient referent instrumental of means; pratyāsatti = the principle that the closest-at-hand referent is the one intendedसमीपता के कारण (तृतीया, साधन में; प्रत्यासत्ति = यह नियम कि प्रसंग में जो निकटतम अर्थ हो वही अभीष्ट है)

sa ca atra — and that nāgara, here; pratyāsattyā — by contextual nearness; śrī-kṛṣṇaḥ eva — is Śrī Kṛṣṇa alone.
sa ca atra — और वह यहाँ; pratyāsattyā — समीपता के कारण; śrī-kṛṣṇaḥ eva — श्रीकृष्ण ही।
And here, Viśvanātha says, that nāgara is Kṛṣṇa and no one else — fixed not by argument about who is 'desired' but simply by pratyāsatti, contextual proximity: Kṛṣṇa is the nearest, most obvious referent at hand.
और वह नागर यहाँ समीपता के कारण श्रीकृष्ण ही है।
pratyāsatti: a principle of interpretation meaning 'nearness/contiguity' — when a word has several senses, the referent nearest in context is the one intended. Viśvanātha reaches Kṛṣṇa by this route, distinct from Jīva's appeal to prastutatva ('being the topic').
प्रत्यासत्ति का अर्थ है 'निकटता / समीपता' — जब किसी शब्द के अनेक अर्थ हों, तब प्रसंग में जो अर्थ सबसे निकट हो वही अभीष्ट माना जाता है। विश्वनाथ इसी मार्ग से कृष्ण तक पहुँचते हैं, जो जीव के प्रस्तुतत्व ('प्रकरण में उपस्थित होना') के आश्रय से भिन्न है।

savidham — the word savidha; nikaṭam — means 'near'.

A quick word-gloss: savidha simply means 'nearby.' So 'naigama-savidham' is 'to the vicinity of the naigama.'
'सविध' का अर्थ है निकट।
