The madhyā's shyness and her passion are balanced — neither one outweighs the other. Her youth is in full, rising bloom.

Her speech is somewhat bold — not timid, not brazen. And she can carry love-play through to its swooning close.
The word moha in mohānta will be contested below: Viśvanātha reads it as ānanda (bliss), while 'others' read it as a fainting-swoon. The line itself leaves it open.

samānau — 'equal' means; tulya-pramāṇau — of the same measure; lajjā-madanau yasyāḥ — [she] whose shyness and passion are so; tena — by this; mugdhāyāḥ — in the mugdhā; madanāt — over passion; lajjā-adhikyam — shyness is the greater.
'Equal' (samāna) means the two are of one measure — her shyness and her passion match. And by fixing the madhyā at 'equal,' he lets us read off the neighbor below her: in the mugdhā, shyness outweighs passion.
This is the pivot of the whole comment: Viśvanātha treats the madhyā's verse as a middle setting from which the two flanking types (mugdhā below, pragalbhā above) can be inferred word by word.

And in the pragalbhā it is the reverse: passion outweighs shyness. So the single word 'equal' sorts all three — mugdhā (more shy), madhyā (balanced), pragalbhā (more passionate).

Source anomaly, flagged not corrected. The text reads 'pragalbha-pūrṇa-pragalbha-vacane,' which literally makes the mugdhā's speech 'bold' (pragalbha). But every other grade puts the mugdhā at the lesser pole (slight youth, shyness over passion), and the madhyā here is only 'somewhat' bold — so the mugdhā's speech should be a-pragalbha ('unbold'). A privative 'a-' has most likely dropped in the source; decoded as printed, with the parallel logic noted.

moha ānandaḥ |
moha ānandaḥ'moha' here means ānanda — ecstatic joy, not fainting or delusionयहाँ 'मोह' का अर्थ आनन्द है
mohaḥ — 'moha' [in mohānta-surata]; ānandaḥ — means ecstatic joy.
In 'mohānta-surata,' the word moha does not mean a faint or a delusion. He glosses it plainly: moha means ānanda, ecstatic joy.
moha normally means swoon or bewilderment; Viśvanātha reads it here as ānanda (bliss). The very next line separates it from mūrcchā (a true fainting), so the two must be kept apart.

mūrcchā — a swoon; kāma-ādi-udgama-janyā — is born of the welling-up of lust and so on.
A mūrcchā, on the other hand, is a real fainting — brought on when lust and the rest surge up. So moha (bliss) and mūrcchā (swoon) are two different things.

Others read 'mohānta-surata-kṣamā' differently. On their reading she cannot sustain long love-play at all; she is equal to it only for a moment, and once the bliss-swoon (ānanda-mūrcchā) comes she is spent. Left standing as a second reading — and notice it fuses moha and mūrcchā into one 'bliss-swoon,' the very thing Viśvanātha's own gloss above kept apart.

So the grades fall out. The mugdhā is fit for love-play with no swoon at all (nirmoha); the madhyā — our verse's heroine — is fit for love-play that ends in swoon (mohānta).
