An udāharaṇa of narma-sphañja — specifically its variety nava-saṅgama, 'a fresh (first) meeting' — the type defined in kārikā 264 (v191): 'narma-sphañjaḥ sukhodyogo bhayārto nava-saṅgamaḥ.' The verse builds to that phrase, 'navaḥ saṅgamaḥ,' in L4.

A sharp-tongued old woman had scolded, 'Where have you gone? Where are you at this hour of the night?' Her harsh words left the two badly frightened.
'रात में कहाँ जा रही है?' — बुढ़िया के इस कठोर वचन से वे दोनों और भी अधिक डर गए।
