Why is this graceful style called kaiśikī? Rūpa gives the reason: it is linked to Hari's keśa — his hair, his locks. From that connection with Kṛṣṇa's hair the style took its name and became renowned as 'kaiśikī'.

kaiśikī is one of the four vṛttis (dramatic styles or modes) — the delicate, graceful one, full of dance, song, and love (śṛṅgāra), defined just before in kārikā nc.8.167. Here Rūpa gives its etymology: the word kaiśikī is derived from keśa 'hair', and he reads that link Vaiṣṇavically as connection with the hair of Hari.
