First line of an udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) of saṅghātya, 'the breaking-up of a hostile party' — defined in kārikā 254 (nc.8.163) as effected by prabhāva (majesty), mantra (counsel), deva (divine agency), and the like. The lead-in 'tatra prabhāvena' marks this verse as the case done by prabhāva: Mathurā-city itself, seeing Hari's glory in Kaṁsa's own arena, turns away from Kaṁsa. The subject 'madhupurī' (Mathurā personified) is held back until L4.

She gazes on some indescribable display of majesty — lovely, and brimming with adbhuta-rasa, the mood of wonder.
adbhuta-rasa is the technical 'rasa of wonder' — the mood proper to a marvel; here it names the flavor of Kṛṣṇa's astonishing feats in the arena.

hareḥ kaṁsopekṣāṁ vadhita bata sākṣān madhupurī ||
hareḥof Hari — whose majesty it is genitive, carrying back to prabhāvaṁ in L3हरि (कृष्ण) के — षष्ठी, तीसरी पंक्ति के प्रभाव से जुड़ती है (हरि के प्रभाव को)
kaṁsa-upekṣāṁher turning-away from Kaṁsa, her disregard of him accusative, object of vadhitaकंस के प्रति उपेक्षा को — द्वितीया, वधित का कर्म
vadhitamade grow, brought to its height finite verb, subject madhupurī; a display of splitting Kaṁsa's own city off from himबढ़ा दिया — समापिका क्रिया, कर्ता मधुपुरी; कंस की अपनी नगरी को उसी से अलग कर देने का प्रदर्शन
bataah! — a gasp of wonderअहो!
sākṣātin her very person, before one's eyesसाक्षात् — प्रत्यक्ष रूप से, सचमुच
madhupurīMathurā-city herself — the withheld subject at last fem. nom., subject of all four linesमधुपुरी (मथुरा) ने — प्रथमा, चारों पंक्तियों का कर्ता
bata — ah!; madhupurī — Mathurā-city; sākṣāt — in her very person; vadhita — made grow; kaṁsa-upekṣāṁ — her disregard of Kaṁsa; hareḥ — [beholding] the majesty of Hari
Ah! Mathurā-city herself, in the flesh, deepened her disregard for Kaṁsa [as she beheld this majesty of Hari]. The city that had been Kaṁsa's own turns from him at the sight of Kṛṣṇa's glory — this is the very saṅghātya, the splitting of a hostile party, worked here by prabhāva alone.
vadhita functions as the main finite verb: 'she made [it] grow, heightened [it].' The point exemplifies the kārikā of nc.8.163: Kṛṣṇa's prabhāva (majesty) in the arena breaks up Kaṁsa's party, personified Mathurā abandoning him.

Waving her fine silk cloth and crying aloud 'Victory! Victory! Victory!', standing close beside the arena, her face lit up and unguarded under the sheer weight of her love, gazing on some indescribable display of Hari's majesty — lovely, and brimming with adbhuta-rasa, the mood of wonder — Mathurā-city herself, ah!, before one's very eyes, deepened her disregard for Kaṁsa.
An udāharaṇa illustrating saṅghātya ('the breaking-up of a hostile party', kārikā nc.8.163) as worked by prabhāva alone: personified Mathurā, seeing Kṛṣṇa's glory in Kaṁsa's own arena, turns from Kaṁsa — the subject 'madhupurī' withheld until the last pāda.
