An udāharaṇa of dṛṣṭa (dṛṣṭam), defined in the preceding kārikā (NC 183) as jāty-ādi-varṇanam — the plain, true-to-life description of a scene's ordinary kind or type (what rhetoric calls svabhāvokti, jāti). Here Vṛndā, casting her glance ahead (puro dṛṣṭiṁ kṣipantī), paints exactly such a homely scene — a girl at her curd-churning — cited from the second act of the play.

gargarī is the wide-mouthed earthen churning-pot; gahana-…-garjitam catches its deep, resonant gurgle — the true sound of the scene, in keeping with dṛṣṭa's plain realism.
