samayaḥ — samaya; duḥkha-saṅkṣayaḥ — is the complete wiping-away of sorrow.
Samaya is the complete wiping-away of sorrow. It is one of the aṅgas (limbs) of the concluding juncture: the point where the distress the plot had piled up is fully cleared. Here the definition is stated; the illustration follows next, where Rādhā's grief dissolves the moment she sees her friends again.
samaya is a nāṭya technical term here — a limb (aṅga) of the concluding juncture (nirvahaṇa-sandhi), not the ordinary word for 'time, occasion, convention, or agreement'. Its dramaturgical job is to mark the removal of the built-up distress, standing beside the neighbouring limbs prasāda, ānanda, and bhāṣaṇa.
