sukhasya — of happiness; samprāptiḥ — the full securing; prājñaiḥ — the wise; prāptiḥ iti abhidhīyate — call 'prāpti'.
The wise give the name 'prāpti' — literally 'gaining' — to the full securing of happiness. This defines the next sandhy-aṅga in Rūpa's list: the limb where the joy the action has been reaching for is actually attained.
prāpti — a limb (aṅga) of the mukha-sandhi, the opening juncture, following parikara, parinyāsa, vilobhana and yukti in Rūpa's sequence. The older nāṭya-śāstra tradition defines it the same way — sukha-samprāpti, 'the arrival of happiness' — the beat where the hero gains the joy hinted at in the seed (bīja). Rūpa restates that settled definition here.
prājñaiḥ sukhasya samprāptiḥ prāptiḥ iti abhidhīyate.
The wise give the name 'prāpti' — 'gaining' — to the full securing of the happiness the action has been reaching toward: not the joy merely approached, but the joy actually taken hold of.
The lakṣaṇa of prāpti, a limb (aṅga) of the mukha-sandhi (the opening juncture): Rūpa restates the settled nāṭya-śāstra definition — sukha-samprāpti, the beat where the hero secures the joy hinted at in the bīja.
