L1definition
bīja-niṣpatti-kathanaṁ parinyāsa itīryate ||
bīja-niṣpatti-kathanaṁdeclaring that the seed has ripened to fruition — bīja the plot-seed (here the anurāga-bīja, the seed of love), niṣpatti its coming-to-full-yield, kathana the stating of it nominative, the subject being defined; a tatpuruṣa — 'the telling (kathana) of the fruition (niṣpatti) of the seed (bīja)'बीज की निष्पत्ति का कथन — अर्थात् जिस अनुराग-बीज का पहले संकेत हुआ था, उसके फलित होने अथवा दृढ़ होने का वर्णन; यही परिभाषित किया जाने वाला विषय है
parinyāsaḥis parinyāsa, the 'laying-out' predicate nominative — the technical name assigned to the thing just describedउसका नाम 'परिन्यास' है — अभी जिस वस्तु का लक्षण कहा गया, उसे यह संज्ञा दी जाती है
iti īryateso it is called, this is the term the tradition uses iti closes the naming; īryate 'is spoken of', passive'इति' कहकर नामकरण पूरा होता है; 'ईर्यते' अर्थात् ऐसा कहा जाता है (कर्मवाच्य)
bīja-niṣpatti-kathanaṁ — the statement that the seed has come to fruition; parinyāsaḥ iti īryate — is called parinyāsa.
Now the next limb of the opening juncture. When the play states that the seed already planted has come to fruition — that its promise is being made good — that stating is called parinyāsa, the 'laying-out'. Upakṣepa first hinted at the seed; parikara multiplied it; parinyāsa now declares that it has ripened.
parinyāsa is the third aṅga of the mukha-sandhi, the opening juncture, following upakṣepa (the first hint of the seed) and parikara (its expansion), both defined in the preceding kārikās of this vibhāga. In the Nāṭaka-candrikā's own frame the 'seed' is the anurāga-bīja, the seed of love between Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa, so parinyāsa is the moment the play announces that love-seed as taking hold.
bīja-niṣpatti-kathanaṁ parinyāsaḥ iti īryate
When the play states that the seed already planted has come to full fruition — that its promise is now being made good — that stating is called parinyāsa, the 'laying-out'.
Rūpa's defining kārikā (lakṣaṇa) for parinyāsa, the third aṅga of the mukha-sandhi: it declares the ripening of the bīja first hinted in upakṣepa and expanded in parikara.
