२९१- न सम्प्रसारणे सम्प्रसारणम्।291. na saṁprasāraṇe saṁprasāraṇam.न अव्ययपदं, सम्प्रसारणे सप्तम्यन्तं, सम्प्रसारणम् प्रथमान्तं, त्रिपदमिदं सूत्रम्।na is an indeclinable word, saṁprasāraṇe in the locative, saṁprasāraṇam in the nominative; this sūtra has three words.
सम्प्रसारण के परे रहते पूर्व को सम्प्रसारण नहीं होता है।When a saṁprasāraṇa follows, saṁprasāraṇa does not take place in what precedes.
सम्प्रसारण के परे सम्प्रसारण नहीं होता अर्थात् पहले पर यण् को सम्प्रसारण होता है, तभी तो इस सूत्र की आवश्यकता पड़ी।saṁprasāraṇa does not occur before a saṁprasāraṇa — that is, saṁprasāraṇa first occurs in the following (para) yaṇ, which is precisely why this sūtra became necessary.पूर्व यण् का सम्प्रसारण पहले होता तो सम्प्रसारण परे मिलता ही नहीं।Had the saṁprasāraṇa of the preceding yaṇ occurred first, a saṁprasāraṇa would never be found following.अत एव यह ज्ञापक हुआ कि पहले पर यण् अर्थात् युवन् में व् को सम्प्रसारण होता है।Hence this is a jñāpaka that saṁprasāraṇa occurs first in the following yaṇ — that is, in the v of yuvan.उस सम्प्रसारण के परे होने पर प्रथम यण् को सम्प्रसारण प्राप्त था, उसका यह सूत्र निषेध करता है अर्थात् युवन् में य् को सम्प्रसारण नहीं होता।When that saṁprasāraṇa follows, the saṁprasāraṇa of the first yaṇ was applicable; this sūtra prohibits it — that is, in yuvan the y does not undergo saṁprasāraṇa.
