२६४- दिव औत्।264. diva aut.दिवः षष्ठ्यन्तम्, औत् प्रथमान्तं, द्विपदमिदं सूत्रम्।divaḥ is in the genitive (ṣaṣṭhī) case, aut is in the nominative (prathamā) case; this sūtra has two words.सावनडुहः से सौ की अनुवृत्ति आती है।The word sau is carried over (anuvṛtti) from ‘sāvanaḍuhaḥ’.
सु के परे होने पर दिव् इस प्रातिपदिक को औकार आदेश होता है।When su follows, the prātipadika div takes the substitute au.
अलोऽन्त्यस्य परिभाषा की उपस्थिति से सुदिव् में अन्त्य वर्ण वकार के स्थान पर औकार आदेश हो जाता है।Through the presence of the paribhāṣā ‘alo’ntyasya’, in sudiv the substitute au takes place in place of the final letter v.
सुद्यौः।sudyauḥ.सुदिव् से सु, दिव औत् से वकार के स्थान पर औकार अन्तादेश होनेFrom sudiv comes su, and by ‘diva aut’ the final substitute au takes the place of the v,
पर सुदि+औ+स् बना।whereby sudi+au+s is formed.दि+औ में यण् होकर द्यौ बना।In di+au the yaṇ substitution takes place, giving dyau.सकार का रुत्व और विसर्ग हो गया- सुद्यौः सिद्ध हुआ।The conversion of the s into ru and visarga takes place — sudyauḥ is established.
अब अजादिविभक्ति के परे होने पर केवल प्रकृति को प्रत्यय से जोड़ना मात्र है।Now, when a vowel-initial (ajādi) case-ending follows, it is merely a matter of joining the base (prakṛti) to the affix.सुदिवौ, सुदिवः इत्यादि।sudivau, sudivaḥ, and so on.
