२५७- वाह ऊठ्।257 — vāha ūṭh.वाहः षष्ठ्यन्तम्, ऊठ् प्रथमान्तं, द्विपदमिदं सूत्रम्।vāhaḥ is in the genitive (ṣaṣṭhī), ūṭh is in the nominative (prathamā); this sūtra has two words.वसोः सम्प्रसारणम् से सम्प्रसारणम् की अनुवृत्ति आती है और भस्य का अधिकार है।From vasoḥ samprasāraṇam the word samprasāraṇam is carried over, and the adhikāra of bhasya is in force.
भसंज्ञक वाह् धातु के स्थान पर सम्प्रसारणसंज्ञक ऊठ् आदेश होता है।In place of the bha-designated dhātu vāh, the samprasāraṇa-designated substitute ūṭh takes place.
ठकार इत्संज्ञक है।The ṭh is it-designated (it-saṁjñaka).ऊठ् आदेश सीधे न करके सम्प्रसारणसंज्ञा से जोड़ने का फल यह है कि सम्प्रसारण होने पर अग्रिम सूत्र सम्प्रसारणाच्च से पूर्वरूप किया जायेगा।The purpose of not making the ūṭh substitute directly, but connecting it with the samprasāraṇa-saṁjñā, is this: once there is samprasāraṇa, by the following sūtra samprasāraṇāc ca the pūrvarūpa will be made.
