२३९- नपुंसकस्य झलचः।239 — napuṁsakasya jhalacaḥ.झल् च अच् तयोः समाहारद्वन्द्वः, झलच्, तस्य झलचः।jhal and ac together, by a samāhāra-dvandva compound, form jhalac, and of that is jhalacaḥ.नपुंसकस्य षष्ठ्यन्तं, झलचः षष्ठ्यन्तं, द्विपदमिदं सूत्रम्।napuṁsakasya is in the genitive (ṣaṣṭhī) case, jhalacaḥ is in the genitive (ṣaṣṭhī) case; this sūtra has two words.इदितो नुम्धातोः से नुम् की और उगिदचां सर्वनामस्थाने चाऽधातोः से सर्वनामस्थाने की अनुवृत्ति आती है।The anuvṛtti of num comes from ‘idito num dhātoḥ’ and of sarvanāmasthāne from ‘ugidacāṁ sarvanāmasthāne cāʼdhātoḥ’.
सर्वनामस्थान के परे रहने पर नपुंसकलिङ्ग में विद्यमान झलन्त और अजन्त शब्दों को नुम् का आगम होता है।When a sarvanāmasthāna follows, the neuter (napuṁsakaliṅga) words that are jhal-ending and vowel-ending (ajanta) receive the augment num.
