अजादि तृतीया आदि विभक्ति के परे होने पर विकल्प से तृज्वद्भाव अर्थात् क्रोष्ट्र आदेश होता है।When an ac-initial (ajādi) case-ending beginning with the tṛtīyā follows, the tṛjvadbhāva — that is, the kroṣṭra substitute — optionally takes place.
अजादि विभक्ति के परे वह भी तृतीया से प्रारम्भ करके, न कि प्रथमा और द्वितीया की अजादि विभक्ति, उसके परे होने पर क्रोष्टु के स्थान पर क्रोष्ट्र आदेश विकल्प से होता है।When an ac-initial case-ending follows — and that too beginning from the tṛtīyā, not the ac-initial endings of the prathamā and dvitīyā — in place of kroṣṭu the substitute kroṣṭra optionally takes place.तृतीयादि अजादि विभक्ति हैं- टा, ङे, ङसि, ङस्, ओस्, आम्, ङि, ओस्।The ac-initial case-endings from the tṛtīyā onward are: ṭā, ṅe, ṅasi, ṅas, os, ām, ṅi, os.इस आदेश के न होने के पक्ष में उकारान्त भानुशब्द की तरह रूप बनते हैं।In the alternative where this substitute does not occur, the forms are made like the u-ending word bhānu.
क्रोष्ट्रा, क्रोष्टुना।kroṣṭrā, kroṣṭunā.क्रोष्टु से तृतीया का एकवचन में टा, अनुबन्धलोप, क्रोष्टु+आ बना।From kroṣṭu, in the instrumental singular ṭā came; on elision of the anubandhas, kroṣṭu + ā was formed.विभाषा तृतीयादिष्वचि से वैकल्पिक क्रोष्ट्र आदेश हुआ, क्रोष्ट्र+आ बना।By 'vibhāṣā tṛtīyādiṣv aci' the optional kroṣṭra substitute was made — kroṣṭra + ā was formed.इको यणचि से ऋकार के स्थान पर यण् होकर र् हुआ- क्रोष्ट्र+आ बना, वर्णसम्मेलन हुआ- क्रोष्ट्रा।By 'iko yaṇ aci' the ṛ became the yaṇ r — kroṣṭr + ā was formed; on letter-combination, kroṣṭrā.क्रोष्ट्र आदेश न होने के पक्ष में क्रोष्टु उकारान्त है, अतः भानुना की तरह घिसंज्ञा होकर आङो नाऽस्त्रियाम् से ना आदेश होकर क्रोष्टुना बनेगा।In the alternative where the kroṣṭra substitute does not occur, kroṣṭu is u-ending, so, like bhānunā, it receives the ghi-saṁjñā, and by 'āṅo nā'striyām' the substitute nā is made, giving kroṣṭunā.
क्रोष्टुभ्याम्।kroṣṭubhyām.क्रोष्टुभिः।kroṣṭubhiḥ.क्रोष्टुभ्यः।kroṣṭubhyaḥ.क्रोष्टुभ्याम् में केवल भ्याम् प्रत्यय को जोड़ना मात्र है किन्तु भिस् और भ्यस् के सकार को रुत्वविसर्ग भी किया जाता है।In kroṣṭubhyām only the affix bhyām is to be joined, but in bhis and bhyas the s is also given rutva and visarga.अतः क्रोष्टुभ्याम्, क्रोष्टुभिः, क्रोष्टुभ्यः बन जाते हैं।Thus kroṣṭubhyām, kroṣṭubhiḥ, kroṣṭubhyaḥ are formed.
