L1definition
bhāratādyāś catasras tu rasāvasthāna-sūcikāḥ |
bhāratādyāḥthose [modes] beginning with bhāratī bahuvrīhi; names the group by its first member, bhāratīभारती को पहला मानकर उससे आरम्भ होने वाली (जो वृत्तियाँ हैं)
catasraḥfour in numberचार

bhāratādyāḥ catasraḥ [vṛttayaḥ] — the four beginning with bhāratī; tu — as for them; rasāvasthāna-sūcikāḥ — indicate where rasa stands.
The four vṛttis, the dramatic modes beginning with bhāratī, point to how rasa is present. They are indicators — they signal the states in which rasa abides.
vṛtti here is a term of Sanskrit dramaturgy (Nāṭya-śāstra): a 'mode' or style of dramatic action and speech. The four are bhāratī (the eloquent, verbal mode), sāttvatī (the grand, noble mode), kaiśikī (the graceful, delicate mode), and ārabhaṭī (the energetic, forceful mode). Home meaning: styles of staging a play; meaning here: Rūpa reads them as pointers to rasa.

vṛttayaḥ — the modes; nāṭya-mātṛtvāt — because they are the mothers of drama; nāṭaka-lakṣaṇe — in the definition-of-drama; uktāḥ — have been treated.
Because these modes are the very mothers of drama — what drama springs from — they have already been set out where drama itself is defined. Rūpa closes by pointing to that treatment rather than repeating it here.

nāṭya-mātṛtvān nāṭya eva upayuktatvād ity arthaḥ |
nāṭya-mātṛtvāt'because they are the mothers of drama' — the verse-phrase Jīva takes up pratīka: the lemma quoted from the mūla to be glossed'नाट्य-मातृत्वात्' (मूल से उद्धृत पद जिसकी व्याख्या हो रही है)
nāṭye eva upayuktatvātmeans: because they are put to use in drama alone — they serve nowhere else eva restricts: 'in drama and nowhere but drama'नाट्य में ही उपयोगी होने के कारण
ity arthaḥthat is the senseऐसा अर्थ है
nāṭya-mātṛtvāt — 'because they are mothers of drama'; nāṭye eva upayuktatvāt — [i.e.] because they are useful in drama alone; ity arthaḥ — that is the sense.
Jīva unpacks 'mothers of drama.' Calling them the mother of drama says only this: they are put to use in drama alone, and serve nowhere else. That is the sense.
'नाट्य की माता होने के कारण' का अर्थ है — नाट्य में ही उपयोगी होने के कारण।

nāṭaka-lakṣaṇe nāṭaka-candrikākhye sva-kṛte iti jñeyam ||
nāṭaka-lakṣaṇe'in the definition of drama' — the verse-phrase to be located pratīka: the lemma quoted from the mūla'नाटक-लक्षणे' (मूल से उद्धृत पद)
nāṭaka-candrikā-ākhyenamely, in the work titled Nāṭaka-candrikā -ākhya = 'named, titled'नाटक-चन्द्रिका नामक (ग्रन्थ में)
sva-kṛtewhich he composed himself — Rūpa's own work locative agreeing with the work; sva = the verse's own authorअपने ही रचे हुए (ग्रन्थ में)
iti jñeyamso it should be understoodऐसा जानना चाहिए
nāṭaka-lakṣaṇe — 'in the definition of drama'; nāṭaka-candrikā-ākhye sva-kṛte — [means] in his own work named Nāṭaka-candrikā; iti jñeyam — so it is to be understood.
'In the definition of drama' is not vague — Jīva names the place: the Nāṭaka-candrikā, a work Rūpa wrote himself. So Jīva tells the reader exactly where the vṛttis were treated. That is how the line should be understood.
Nāṭaka-candrikā is Rūpa Gosvāmī's own manual of dramaturgy; Jīva identifies it as the cross-reference the verse points to.

catasraḥ vṛttayaḥare the four modes (vṛttis) Viśvanātha joins the subject scattered across the two lines — 'beginning with bhāratī... four' (L1) with 'vṛttis' (L2)चार वृत्तियाँ
bhāratādyāḥ catasraḥ vṛttayaḥ — the four modes beginning with bhāratī.
Viśvanātha first pins down the subject: the four vṛttis beginning with bhāratī. He pulls together the words strung across the two lines — 'beginning with bhāratī' and 'four' from the first, 'vṛttis' from the second — into one subject before glossing the rest.

nāṭya-mātṛtvāt'because they are the mothers of drama' — the verse-phrase taken up pratīka: the lemma quoted from the mūla'नाट्य-मातृत्वात्' (मूल से उद्धृत पद)
nāṭye eva upayuktatām[means] their being put to use in drama alone eva restricts to drama; upayuktatām accusative, object of an implied 'it conveys/means'नाट्य में ही उपयोगिता को

nāṭya-mātṛtvāt — because they are mothers of drama; nāṭye eva upayuktatām — [i.e.] usefulness in drama alone; mat-kṛta-nāṭaka-candrikāyāṁ nāṭaka-lakṣaṇe — in the definition-of-drama in the Nāṭaka-candrikā made by me; uktāḥ — they were stated.
Viśvanātha makes the same two points as Jīva. 'Mothers of drama' means useful in drama alone. And for the cross-reference he writes the gloss in Rūpa's own voice: 'in the Nāṭaka-candrikā I composed, in the section defining drama, they were stated.'
The first person 'mat-kṛta' (made by me) is Viśvanātha voicing the gloss as the author Rūpa, since Rūpa wrote the Nāṭaka-candrikā. Both Jīva (sva-kṛte) and Viśvanātha (mat-kṛta) independently identify the reference as Rūpa's own Nāṭaka-candrikā.
