An udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) for the first rasābhāsa fault of this laharī. The speaker is a woman who lives on Kailāsa (Śiva's mountain) addressing Hari as a lover. Viśvanātha ties it to the stuty-ādi list and diagnoses it as a vairūpya — a deformity — of anubhāva: she praises where jealous anger is what the moment calls for.

'Praise and the rest' — Viśvanātha first names the class of faults, of which this verse illustrates the first, praise. Then he restates the verse plainly: O Hari, though you bear another woman's nail-marks, drop your shame and accept me. Along the way he fixes the words — kāntā means a rival woman, hriyam means lajjā (shame), and bhajasva mām means 'accept me.'

atrānya-kāntā-sambhoga-cihne dṛṣṭe nāyikāyā roṣoktir apekṣitā |
atrahere, in this situationयहाँ (इस प्रसंग में)
anya-kāntā-sambhoga-cihne dṛṣṭeonce the sign of union with another woman has been seen locative absolute — the triggering condition; when the mark is seen, then…
nāyikāyāḥfrom the heroine — genitive, the one whose response is at issueनायिका का / नायिका की ओर से
roṣoktiḥan angry rebuke, words of jealous angerरोषपूर्ण वचन
apekṣitāis what is called for, what the moment expectsअपेक्षित था
atra — here; anya-kāntā-sambhoga-cihne dṛṣṭe — once the sign of union with another woman is seen; nāyikāyāḥ roṣoktiḥ — an angry rebuke from the heroine; apekṣitā — is what is called for.
Here is the point: when a heroine sees on her lover the marks of his night with another woman, what the moment calls for is an angry rebuke.

tāṁ vihāya anayā stutiḥ kṛteti anubhāvasya vairūpyaṁ jñeyam ||
tāṁ vihāyaabandoning that [expected rebuke] — tām = the roṣokti just namedउस (रोषोक्ति) को छोड़कर
anayāby her instead — instrumental, the heroine as agentइस (नायिका) के द्वारा
stutiḥ kṛtāpraise is offeredस्तुति की गई
iti— this being soऐसा होने से (इस कारण)
anubhāvasya vairūpyama deformity of the anubhāva (the outward reaction) genitive; anubhāva = the visible response that displays the mood — here it comes out wrongअनुभाव का वैरूप्य — अनुभाव, जो भाव को प्रकट करनेवाली दृश्य प्रतिक्रिया है, उसकी विकृति
jñeyamis to be recognized [as the flaw here]जानना चाहिए
tām vihāya — abandoning that rebuke; anayā stutiḥ kṛtā — praise is offered by her instead; iti — this being so; anubhāvasya vairūpyam — a deformity of the outward reaction; jñeyam — is to be recognized.
But instead of that rebuke she offers praise. That, Viśvanātha concludes, is to be recognized as the flaw here: a vairūpya — a deformity — of the anubhāva. The outward reaction is wrong for the mood, and that is what tips the scene into rasābhāsa, a mere semblance of rasa.
anubhāva: the outward, visible response (words, gestures, expressions) by which an inner emotion is shown. Here the inner mood is jealous love, whose proper anubhāva is angry words; when it surfaces as praise instead, the anubhāva is 'deformed' (vairūpya) and the rasa misfires.
