L1definition
samayānāṁ vyatikrāntir grāmyatvaṁ dhṛṣṭatāpi ca |
samayānāṁ vyatikrāntiḥoverstepping the conventions [of a given mood] samayānām genitive — the settled ācāras that a heroine or hero is expected to follow; vyatikrāntiḥ = stepping across themसमयों अर्थात् (नायक-नायिका के लिए) निश्चित आचार-मर्यादाओं का उल्लंघन
grāmyatvaṁcoarseness, village-crude behavior grāmya = 'of the village', hence vulgar, unrefinedग्राम्यता — गँवारपन, अशिष्ट व्यवहार
dhṛṣṭatā api caand impudence too, brazenness api ca adds the third item to the listऔर धृष्टता (ढिठाई) भी
samayānāṁ vyatikrāntiḥ — overstepping the conventions; grāmyatvaṁ — coarseness; dhṛṣṭatā api ca — and impudence too.
Now the deformity of anubhāva — the outward signs of love going wrong. It comes in three forms. One: overstepping the conventions, doing what the mood does not call for. Two: coarseness, crude village-style behavior. Three: impudence, sheer brazenness. L2 will say whose deformity this is and who declared it.
The stanza's lead-in is atha anubhāva-vairūpyam — 'now, the misshaping of anubhāva.' anubhāva = the bodily/outward expressions by which an inner emotion is inferred; vairūpya is their disfigurement, one species of rasābhāsa. This atom lists the three kinds; L2 completes the definition.
L2definition
vairūpyam anubhāvāder manīṣibhir udīritam ||
vairūpyamis the deformity, the misshaping predicate — the three items of L1 are together called this(इन तीनों को मिलाकर) वैरूप्य अर्थात् विकृति (कहते हैं)
anubhāvāderof anubhāva and the rest [the outward signs] genitive; ādi (and the rest) leaves room to extend beyond anubhāva properअनुभाव आदि का — 'आदि' से अनुभाव के अतिरिक्त और भी भावों तक विस्तार
manīṣibhirby the thoughtful, the wise instrumental of agent with the passive udīritamमनीषियों अर्थात् विद्वानों के द्वारा
udīritamhas been declared, statedकहा गया है
anubhāvāder vairūpyam — the deformity of anubhāva and the rest; manīṣibhir udīritam — has been declared by the wise.
These three together are what the wise have called the deformity of anubhāva and its kin. So the definition closes: overstepping conventions, coarseness, and impudence — that is anubhāva-vairūpya.
L3definition
samayāḥ khaṇḍitādīnāṁ priye roṣoditādayaḥ |
khaṇḍitādīnāṁof the khaṇḍitā and the other heroine-types genitive; khaṇḍitā = the woman wronged by a lover who came bearing signs of another tryst — a standard nāyikā class, ādi extending to the restखण्डिता आदि नायिकाओं के लिए — खण्डिता वह नायिका है जिसके पास नायक दूसरी नायिका के संकेत लिए हुए आ पहुँचा हो; 'आदि' से शेष नायिका-भेद
priyetoward the beloved locative of the person the convention is directed atप्रिय अर्थात् नायक के प्रति
roṣoditādayaḥthe flaring-up of anger and the like roṣa-udita = anger that has arisen; ādayaḥ = and so onउत्पन्न रोष (क्रोध) आदि (आचार) हैं
khaṇḍitādīnāṁ samayāḥ — the conventions of the khaṇḍitā and the rest; priye — toward the beloved; roṣoditādayaḥ — [are] the flaring of anger and the like.
Now the first of the three, taken up on its own: overstepping conventions. Take the khaṇḍitā and heroines like her. Their proper convention toward the beloved is that anger should flare up — that is what the mood calls for from them.
The stanza's lead-in is tatra samaya-vyatikrāntiḥ — 'among these [three], the transgression of convention.' L3-L5 isolate and define just the first item of L1.
L4definition
puṁsaḥ smitādayaś cātra priyayā tāḍanādiṣu |
puṁsaḥof the man, the hero genitive, parallel to khaṇḍitādīnāṁ in L3 — now the male side of the conventionपुरुष अर्थात् नायक के लिए (L3 के खण्डिता आदि के समानान्तर, अब पुरुष-पक्ष का आचार)
smitādayaḥ caand smiling and the like [are the convention]और स्मित (मुसकान) आदि
atrahere, in this situationयहाँ अर्थात् इस प्रसंग में
priyayāwhen the beloved woman [does it] instrumental of the agent whose action sets the sceneप्रिया के द्वारा (जिसकी क्रिया प्रसंग रचती है)
tāḍanādiṣuin beatings and the like locative — the occasions in which the hero's convention is smilingताड़न (मारना) आदि होने पर
atra puṁsaḥ — and here, of the man; priyayā tāḍanādiṣu — when the beloved does the beating and the like; smitādayaḥ ca — smiling and the like [are the convention].
And for the man it is the reverse. When the beloved woman beats him — with flowers and so on — the convention is that he should smile and the like. Anger from her, a smile from him: that is what the mood prescribes.
L5definition
eteṣām anyathā-bhāvaḥ samayānāṁ vyatikramaḥ ||
eteṣāmof these [conventional responses] genitive, pointing back to the anger and the smiling just laid downइनका अर्थात् अभी कहे गए रोष तथा स्मित आदि का
anyathā-bhāvaḥtheir turning out otherwise anyathā = 'in another way' — the response coming out the opposite of what the mood prescribesअन्यथा भाव — भाव के अनुसार जो अपेक्षित हो, उससे विपरीत रूप में होना
samayānāṁ vyatikramaḥis the transgression of the conventionsयही समयों अर्थात् आचारों का व्यतिक्रम (उल्लंघन) है
eteṣām anyathā-bhāvaḥ — the turning-otherwise of these; samayānāṁ vyatikramaḥ — is the transgression of the conventions.
When these come out the other way round — the angry heroine smiling instead, or the beaten hero flaring up in anger — that reversal is what is meant by transgression of the conventions. So the first form of anubhāva-vairūpya is defined.

samayāḥ ācārāḥ ||
ācārāḥmeans the settled customs, the prescribed ways of behavingआचार हैं
samayāḥ — 'samayas'; ācārāḥ — [means] the settled customs.
Jīva gives the one word that unlocks the verse: samaya here means ācāra — the settled, prescribed way of behaving that a given mood lays down.

Viśvanātha spells out the whole picture. The samayas are the ācāras — the customs the rasa-śāstra actually prescribes. For a heroine like the khaṇḍitā, toward her lover, the prescribed response is words that betray anger, and only those. And on the other side: even when she, as the one acting, is beating him with flowers and the like, the custom for the man is to smile and only to smile — not to flare up in anger back at her. So each side has its assigned response; anger belongs to her, the smile to him.

And Viśvanātha pins down what the mūla's 'of these' points to: the anger-flarings. Their coming out otherwise — the angry response failing to appear where it should — is the transgression.
