kajjalena kṛta-keśa-kālimā
kajjalenausing lamp-black (kohl) — the means she blackens with instrumental of meansकाजल के द्वारा (साधन-तृतीया) — 'काजल से'
kṛta-keśa-kālimāshe who has manufactured the blackness of her hair — i.e. faked a black head of hair bahuvrīhi describing the old woman: 'by whom the hair-blackness has been made'; the point is it is applied, not naturalजिसने काजल से अपने बालों का कालापन रच रखा है — बहुव्रीहि, वृद्धा का वर्णन; तात्पर्य यह कि यह कालापन लगाया हुआ है, स्वाभाविक नहीं
kajjalena — with kohl; kṛta-keśa-kālimā — [the old woman] whose hair's blackness has been manufactured.
An old woman has blacked up her hair with kohl — the darkness of her hair is painted on, not her own.
The opening line of an udāharaṇa (illustrative verse) under the lead-in 'vṛddhā, yathā—' ('an old woman, for example'), in the laharī on rasābhāsa (Uttara 9). It illustrates a semblance of the erotic mood (śṛṅgāra-rasa) seated in an unfit substrate — an aged woman got up as young. This first line begins the disguise: kohl-blacked hair.

bilva-yugma-racitonnata-stanīshe who has propped her breasts up high with a pair of bilva fruits — the raised bust is built out of two wood-apples bilva-yugma = a pair of bilva (wood-apple) fruits; racita = fashioned/made; unnata-stanī = 'having lifted breasts' — a bahuvrīhi continuing to describe the old womanबिल्व (कैथ) फलों की एक जोड़ी से जिसने उभरे हुए स्तन बना लिए हैं — बहुव्रीहि, वृद्धा का वर्णन आगे जारी
bilva-yugma-racita-unnata-stanī — [the old woman] whose high breasts are fashioned out of a pair of bilva fruits.
She has propped her sagging breasts up high with a pair of bilva (wood-apple) fruits, to look full-bosomed and young.
The joke turns a stock poetic simile inside out: poets liken a young woman's breasts to bilva fruits, but here the aged woman literally stuffs two bilvas in to fake the shape. The disguise begun in L1 continues.

kiratīscattering, casting about — what the old woman is doing present participle, feminine, agreeing with the old woman of L4बिखेरती हुई (वर्तमान कृदन्त, स्त्रीलिंग, चौथी पंक्ति की वृद्धा के अनुरूप)
dṛg-añcalaṁthe corner of her eye — i.e. a sidelong, flirting glance, the thing she is casting accusative, object of kiratī; dṛś = eye, añcala = corner/edgeनेत्रों के कोर को — अर्थात् कटाक्ष को (कर्म; दृक् = आँख, अञ्चल = कोर)
paśya — look; gauri — O Gaurī; [asau jaratī] dṛg-añcalaṁ kiratī — [that old woman,] casting sidelong glances.
Look, Gaurī — she is throwing sidelong glances all around, working her eyes at him.
The subject of kiratī — 'that old woman' — arrives only in L4 (asau jaratī); L3 and L4 are one sentence.

That old woman there sets Kṛṣṇa — the killer of Agha — smiling. He laughs at the sight, and that is all it earns from him.
Naming Kṛṣṇa 'Aghahara', the slayer of the demon Agha, sharpens the mismatch: the mighty one who destroys demons is merely amused by this coquetry — he smiles, he does not desire.

hāsayati= makes [him] laugh — his one-word gloss on smerayati gloss-word supplied to fix the causative sense of smerayatiहँसा देती है — स्मेरयति के णिजन्त अर्थ को पक्का करने के लिए दिया गया व्याख्या-शब्द
he gauri — O Gaurī; dṛg-añcalaṁ kiratī vṛddhā — the old woman, casting her sidelong glance; śrī-kṛṣṇaṁ smerayati hāsayati — makes Śrī Kṛṣṇa smile, i.e. makes him laugh.
Viśvanātha re-says the line plainly: O Gaurī, the old woman, casting her sidelong glances, makes Śrī Kṛṣṇa smile — that is, makes him laugh. Along the way he pins down the two names: 'jaratī' is the old woman (vṛddhā), and 'Aghahara' is Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
The gloss hāsayati ('makes laugh') fixes smerayati as a causative — she is not smiling, she is making Kṛṣṇa smile.
s2conclusion
ekatra vṛddhādiṣv eva rāgo na kṛṣṇa iti ||
ekatraon one side only — the passion runs one way 'in one place'; here the single, unfit sideएक ही ओर (एक पक्ष में) — यहाँ वह अकेला अयोग्य पक्ष

evaand there alone — nowhere elseही
na kṛṣṇanot in Kṛṣṇa — he feels no answering love na + kṛṣṇe, the locative parallel to vṛddhādiṣu carried over and elided before itiकृष्ण में नहीं (न + कृष्णे; वृद्धादिषु के समानान्तर सप्तमी, इति से पूर्व अध्याहृत)
iti— so runs the point closes Viśvanātha's verdictइस प्रकार (विश्वनाथ का निर्णय यहाँ समाप्त)
rāgaḥ — the passion; ekatra vṛddhādiṣu eva — on one side, in the old woman and her sort alone; na kṛṣṇe — not in Kṛṣṇa.
Here is why it is a semblance and not the real mood: the passion is entirely one-sided. It lives in the old woman and her kind alone — Kṛṣṇa feels nothing back; he only laughs. Since erotic rasa needs love answering love, this śṛṅgāra with rati on the unfit side alone is rasābhāsa, a mere semblance of the mood.
This is Viśvanātha's verdict naming the flaw: the seat of the love (āśraya) is both unfit — an old woman — and unreciprocated. On both counts the erotic mood misfires into rasābhāsa, which is the whole point of the illustration.
