mitho vairāv api dvau yau bhāvau dharma-sutādiṣu |

dharma-suta-ādiṣu — in Yudhiṣṭhira and the like; yau dvau bhāvau — those two moods which; mithaḥ vairau api — though mutually at war; [prākaṭyaṁ vindantau na duṣyataḥ, continued in L2].
Take two bhāvas (devotional moods) that are natural enemies — moods that normally cannot sit together. Yet both of them turn up in one and the same devotee, someone like Yudhiṣṭhira. The verse is about exactly that situation.
This is the rule of maitrī-vaira-sthiti, the friendship, enmity, and neutrality among the rasas: some moods are mutually hostile (vaira) because they demand opposite postures toward Kṛṣṇa — e.g. treating him as one's lord versus treating him as one's junior.
L2definition
kālādi-bhedāt prākaṭyaṁ tau vindantau na duṣyataḥ ||
kāla-ādi-bhedātbecause they come at different times and in different circumstances ablative of cause; ādi = 'and so on' (place, occasion, relationship)समय आदि के भेद के कारण
prākaṭyaṁtheir coming-out into the open, their showing themselvesप्रकट होना
tau vindantauthose two, as they attain (that showing-forth) vindantau, present participle dual, agreeing with tauवे दोनों (प्रकटता को) प्राप्त करते हुए
na duṣyataḥdo not become a fault; nothing is wrong with them duṣ-, 3rd dual: 'the two are not spoiled / are not faulted'दूषित नहीं होते
tau — those two [hostile moods]; kāla-ādi-bhedāt — because they surface at different times and settings; prākaṭyaṁ vindantau — coming out into the open; na duṣyataḥ — are not a fault.
Why is it not a contradiction? Because the two moods do not fire at the same moment. Difference of time and occasion keeps them apart — one shows itself now, the other later. Since they never collide, having both in one devotee is no fault at all.
kāla-ādi-bhedāt is the load-bearing word: it is timing (and circumstance) that dissolves the apparent clash. The opposed moods take turns rather than occurring together.

tat-tad-bhāva-yogyeṣu teṣu — in the devotees fit for each respective mood; bhāva-bhedasya — of the differing moods; yathā-kālam udayāt — because [each] rises at its own time.
Jīva spells out the verse's reasoning. The moods only appear in devotees who are actually suited to each mood. And within such a devotee, the differing moods rise up each at its own proper time. That staggered timing is why there is no clash.
This sentence glosses the mūla's kālādi-bhedāt prākaṭyaṁ: 'difference of time' = each bhāva rising yathā-kālam, at its own moment.

prīta-vātsalyaṁloving devotion (prīti, the dāsya side) together with parental affection (vātsalya) compound read as a pair; parallels Viśvanātha's dāsya + vātsalyaप्रीत (आदरयुक्त सेवाभाव) और वात्सल्य

dharma-sute hi — for in Yudhiṣṭhira; prīta-vātsalyaṁ sakhyaṁ ca — loving-reverence-with-vātsalya, and friendship; dṛśyate — is seen.
Here is the proof case. In Yudhiṣṭhira you can actually see it all at once: reverential loving devotion, parental affection (vātsalya), and friendship (sakhya). Moods that ought to conflict are all found in this one devotee.
Jīva names prīta-vātsalya and sakhya here; his three grounds of fitness in s4 (knowing Kṛṣṇa's lordship, elder-brotherhood, not-too-elder-brotherhood) line up with the reverential/servile, vātsalya, and sakhya sides respectively.

yogyatā ca—tad-īśvaratā-jñānitvāt, jyeṣṭha-bhrātṛtvāt nātijyeṣṭha-bhrātṛtvāc ca, yathā śrī-baladevasya |
yogyatā caand here is what makes him fit (for each of those moods) supplies the yogyatā that s2 required; ca = 'and, now'और अब योग्यता (इस प्रकार है)
tad-īśvaratā-jñānitvātbecause he knows Kṛṣṇa to be the Supreme Lord (→ the reverential/dāsya side) ablative of cause; -jñānitvāt = 'from his being a knower of...'
jyeṣṭha-bhrātṛtvātbecause he is an elder kinsman (→ vātsalya, treating Kṛṣṇa as junior) ablative of causeक्योंकि वह ज्येष्ठ भ्राता है, इस कारण
nātijyeṣṭha-bhrātṛtvāt caand because he is not too much of an elder (→ sakhya, near-equal friendship) na-ati-jyeṣṭha = 'not excessively senior'; ablative of causeऔर क्योंकि वह अत्यन्त ज्येष्ठ भ्राता नहीं है, इस कारण
yathā śrī-baladevasyajust as it is with Śrī Baladeva genitive of comparison: the same combination holds in Baladeva's caseजैसे श्रीबलदेव का (वही योग है)
yogyatā ca — and the fitness [comes]; tad-īśvaratā-jñānitvāt — because he knows Kṛṣṇa's lordship; jyeṣṭha-bhrātṛtvāt — because he is an elder; na-ati-jyeṣṭha-bhrātṛtvāt ca — and because not too far an elder; yathā śrī-baladevasya — as with Baladeva.
What qualifies Yudhiṣṭhira for all three moods? Three overlapping facts about him. He knows Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme Lord — that grounds the reverential, servile love. He is Kṛṣṇa's senior kinsman — that grounds vātsalya, treating Kṛṣṇa as a junior to be protected. Yet he is not so very much senior — that leaves room for friendship, sakhya, on near-equal terms. Jīva adds that the very same mix is found in Śrī Baladeva.
Three grounds map onto three moods: īśvaratā-jñāna → reverential/dāsya love, elder-brotherhood → vātsalya, not-too-elder → sakhya. The Baladeva comparison is Jīva's own addition (Viśvanātha does not include it).

doṣatvaṁ khalu ayogye eva vidhīyate — fault is prescribed only for the unfit; tasmāt teṣu na doṣaḥ — so there is no fault in them; kiṁ tu anyatra eva iti arthaḥ — rather only elsewhere, is the sense; ye vā kecit prayogāḥ śrī-bhāgavate viruddhāḥ iva dṛśyante — and whatever Bhāgavata passages look contradictory; tat-samādhānaṁ tu prīti-sandarbhe kṛtam asti — their resolution is done in the Prīti-sandarbha.
Jīva closes the argument. 'Fault' is a category that applies only to the unqualified. Since these devotees are qualified, there is no fault in them; if a fault were charged anywhere, it could only be somewhere else. He then adds a pointer: if any passages in the Śrī Bhāgavata still look like they contradict this, their answer has already been worked out — in the Prīti-sandarbha section of his Bhāgavata-sandarbha.
The closing sentence cross-refers to Jīva's own Prīti-sandarbha (part of the Bhāgavata-sandarbha / Ṣaṭ-sandarbha) as the place where apparent Bhāgavata counter-examples are reconciled; no verse is quoted here.

Viśvanātha gives the same core reason: the moods appear only in devotees fit for each, and each mood rises at its own proper time. He then pins down the verse's word 'Dharma-suta' — it means Yudhiṣṭhira, and 'and the rest' extends it to others like him.
dharma-suta ('son of Dharma') is a patronymic; Viśvanātha names its referent, Yudhiṣṭhira, so the reader is not left guessing whom the verse means.
