An udāharaṇa, an illustrative verse, for this laharī on maitrī-vaira-sthiti — the friendships and enmities among the rasas. It shows the maitrī, the friendly kinship, between the amorous mood (śṛṅgāra) and śānta, the peaceful mood: the lover wears the very marks of śānti — sleeplessness, an unblinking gaze, absorption in meditation. The verse says it outright: Rādhā made the speaker 'śāntir iva,' 'like Peace itself.'

Viśvanātha simply threads the words in their natural order: Rādhā, like Peace herself, makes me sleepless, my eyes never blinking, and fixed in meditation, and so she settles me in the mountain cave. He changes only the wording of two terms — the verse's 'blinkless' (nir-nimeṣa) he says as 'free of blinking' (nimiṣa-rahita), and he restates the locative 'in the cave.' No new claim, just a clear reading of the line.
