putras te navanīta-piṇḍam atanuṁ muṣṇan mamāntar-gṛhād
putraḥ teyour boy — the one the complaint is about te = genitive 'your', pinning the culprit on the motherतेरा पुत्र — 'ते' (षष्ठी) से दोष सीधे माता पर मढ़ा जाता है
atanuṁ navanīta-piṇḍama big lump of butter — atanu = 'not small' atanu, litotes; Viśvanātha glosses it sthūla, 'thick'कोई छोटा-मोटा नहीं, बल्कि बड़ा मक्खन का पिंड
muṣṇanwhile stealing it present participle, nom., agreeing with putraḥचुराता हुआ (वर्तमान कृदन्त, पुत्र का विशेषण)
mama antar-gṛhātfrom deep inside my house ablative of source; antar- = 'the inner room'मेरे घर के भीतरी कमरे से (अपादान)
putraḥ te — your boy; mama antar-gṛhāt — from inside my house; atanuṁ navanīta-piṇḍam — a big lump of butter; muṣṇan — while stealing it
An old kinswoman is lodging a complaint with the mistress of the house: your boy sneaked a big lump of butter out of the inner room of my house.
An udāharaṇa of hāsya-rasa (the comic mood): per the lead-in 'tatraiva hāsyasya', and L5's 'atrāpi mukhye gauṇasya', it shows hāsya arising as a gauṇa (secondary) rasa seated inside a mukhya (principal) one — the mother's parental love.

vinyasyāpasasāra tasya kaṇikāṁ nidrāṇa-ḍimbhānane |
tasya kaṇikāṁa crumb of that same lump tasya refers back to the butter-lump of L1उसी मक्खन-पिंड का एक कण (L1 के पिंड की ओर संकेत)
nidrāṇa-ḍimbha-ānaneonto the face of a sleeping little child locative of where it is smeared; nidrāṇa = 'asleep', ḍimbha = 'baby'सोए हुए शिशु के मुख पर (सप्तमी — जहाँ लगाया)
vinyasyahaving planted it there absolutive — a frame-up before the main verbलगाकर (ल्यबन्त — मुख्य क्रिया से पहले की चाल)
tasya kaṇikāṁ — a crumb of it; nidrāṇa-ḍimbha-ānane — on a sleeping baby's face; vinyasya — having planted it; apasasāra — he slipped off
Then he dabbed a crumb of the butter onto my sleeping baby's face and ran off — leaving the tell-tale smear on the wrong child.

suta-mukheonto her own son's face locative — where the glance landsपुत्र के मुख पर (सप्तमी — जहाँ दृष्टि पड़ती है)
vibhugna-bhruṇia face whose brow is knit (the boy frowning in mock offense) locative bahuvrīhi agreeing with suta-mukhe; unpacked in Viśvanātha s2जिसकी भौंह तनी हुई है, ऐसे (सप्तमी बहुव्रीहि, सुत-मुख का विशेषण)
dṛṣṭiṁa look — completed by 'casting' in L4दृष्टि, नज़र (कर्म)
iti kula-vṛddhayā uktā — thus charged by the old kinswoman; suta-mukhe vibhugna-bhruṇi — on her son's face, its brow knit; dṛṣṭiṁ — a look
So charged by the old kinswoman, she turns to her son's face — and the boy is frowning, brow knit in put-on indignation at the accuser. She sends a look at that face.

smerāṁa smiling look — she is amused, not angry adj. to dṛṣṭim; the seat of the hāsyaमुसकानभरी (दृष्टि का विशेषण — यहीं हास्य का आसन है)

sadā vaḥ kṣemāya bhavatumay she forever be for your welfare bhavatu benedictive; vaḥ kṣemāya dative of purpose, addressing the audienceसदा तुम सबके कल्याण के लिए हो (आशीर्लिङ् जैसा 'भवतु'; 'वः' और 'क्षेमाय' सम्प्रदान — श्रोताओं को सम्बोधन)
goṣṭheśvarīthe mistress of the cowherd village — she is the subject of the blessingगोकुल की स्वामिनी (यशोदा), कर्ता
goṣṭheśvarī — the mistress of Vraja; suta-mukhe (L3) — on her son's face; smerāṁ dṛṣṭiṁ nikṣipatī — casting a smiling look; sadā vaḥ kṣemāya bhavatu — may she forever be for your welfare
The look she casts is a smiling one — she is charmed, not cross. The boy frowns as if wronged; the mother beams: those two faces together are the joke. May the mistress of the cowherd village forever be for your welfare.
The comic charge (hāsya) sits in the clash of the two expressions: the child's feigned indignant frown against the mother's amused smile, all inside her parental tenderness.
L5conclusion
atrāpi mukhye gauṇasya |
atra apiin this case too api = 'as well', tying it to the run of examples in the laharīयहाँ भी — 'अपि' इसे लहरी के उदाहरणों की श्रृंखला से जोड़ता है
mukhyewithin the principal rasa (here the mother's parental love) locative — the mukhya rasa as the containerमुख्य रस में (सप्तमी — मुख्य रस आधार-पात्र के रूप में)
gauṇasya[is the placement] of a secondary rasa (here hāsya) genitive; supply sthiteḥ / sthitiḥ — the laharī's theme of maitrī-vaira-sthitiगौण रस की (षष्ठी; यहाँ 'स्थिति' अध्याहार्य — लहरी का मैत्री-वैर-स्थिति वाला विषय)
atra api — here too; mukhye — inside the principal rasa; gauṇasya [sthitiḥ] — [there is] the seating of a secondary rasa
Rūpa's own tag on the example: here too a secondary rasa (hāsya) sits lodged inside a principal one (vātsalya). That coexistence is exactly what this laharī on how the rasas stand toward one another is charting.

Viśvanātha simply restates the verse in plain words, glossing the hard bits: atanu = 'big', antar-gṛhāt = 'in the middle of my house', nidrāṇa-ḍimbhānane = 'on the sleeping boy's face'. His key move is glossing smerā as hāsya-yukta, 'full of laughter' — that is where he locates the comic mood, in the mother's amused look.

suta-mukhe kathaṁ-bhūte ? vṛddhāṁ praty asūyayā vibhugnā bhrūr yasya tathā-bhūte ||
suta-mukhe kathaṁ-bhūte?the son's face — of what sort? kathaṁ-bhūta question-form, opening the parse of the bahuvrīhi vibhugna-bhruṇiपुत्र का मुख कैसा?
vṛddhāṁ pratidirected at the old woman prati + accusative — the target of his frownवृद्धा के प्रति ('प्रति' + द्वितीया — भौंह टेढ़ी करने का लक्ष्य)
asūyayāout of indignation — because he resents being accused instrumental of causeक्योंकि वह असूया (चिढ़) से भरा है (तृतीया — कारण)
vibhugnā bhrūḥ yasyathe one whose brow is twisted into a knit bahuvrīhi resolving vibhugna-bhru-जिसकी भौंह तनी हुई है, वह ('विभुग्न-भ्रु' का बहुव्रीहि विग्रह)

suta-mukhe kathaṁ-bhūte? — the son's face, of what kind?; vṛddhāṁ prati asūyayā vibhugnā bhrūḥ yasya — he whose brow is knit in indignation toward the old woman; tathā-bhūte — on that so-formed face
suta-mukhe kathaṁ-bhūte?
Now he unpacks vibhugna-bhruṇi from L3 as a kathaṁ-bhūta question: the son's face — what kind? — the kind whose brow is knit out of indignation at the old woman. So the boy scowls in mock resentment at his accuser; set against the mother's smile in s1, the two faces make the comedy.
