śṛṇvantī turaṅga-dānavaṁ ruṣā
śṛṇvantīas she hears the news fem. present participle; the subject is Yaśodā, named only in L4सुनती हुई (यशोदा — कर्त्री, जिसका नाम L4 में ही आता है)
turaṅga-dānavaṁthat the horse-demon — Keśī accusative; the thing heard aboutघोड़े के रूप वाले दानव को (जिसके विषय में वह सुन रही है)
ruṣāin a rage instrumental of manner; construes ahead with viśantam in L2 — the demon enters ragingक्रोध के साथ (यह L2 के विशन्तम् से अन्वित है — दानव क्रोधपूर्वक प्रवेश करता हुआ)
śṛṇvantī — as she hears; turaṅga-dānavaṁ — that the horse-demon Keśī; ruṣā — in a rage [is entering]
She hears the news that the horse-demon — Keśī — is coming, raging. The rasa here is fear, and it is set off purely by what she hears; nothing is seen. So this verse illustrates bhaya (fear) arising from hearing.
An udāharaṇa of bhayānaka-bhakti-rasa (the devotional mood of fear) arising from śravaṇa, 'hearing' — matching the lead-in 'śravaṇād, yathā', 'from hearing, as [here]'. The frightened one is Yaśodā; the object of fear is Keśī approaching her son Kṛṣṇa.

gokulaṁ kila viśantam uddhuram |
gokulaṁinto Gokula accusative of goal — where the demon is headingगोकुल में (जहाँ वह दानव जा रहा है)
kilaso the report ran kila marks hearsay — this is the content of what she heard, not what she sawकहते हैं कि — यह सुनी हुई बात है, आँखों देखी नहीं
viśantamwas pushing his way in accusative present participle agreeing with turaṅga-dānavaṁ (L1)प्रवेश करते हुए (L1 के तुरङ्ग-दानव का विशेषण)
uddhuramunstoppable, out of all controlउद्दण्ड, प्रचण्ड (उस दानव को)
gokulaṁ — into Gokula; kila — so the report ran; viśantam — was pushing his way in; uddhuram — unstoppable
The report was that this raging demon was forcing his way into Gokula, and nothing could stop him. The word kila keeps it at the level of a report reaching her ears — she has only heard it.

Viśvanātha simply restates the verse in prose and fills in the two names it withholds: the horse-demon is Keśī, and the queen of Vraja is Yaśodā. Hearing Keśī was entering Gokula, her face-lotus drying, Yaśodā grew distraught to save her son. He replaces the verse's poetic words with plain ones — āsya-jalaja becomes mukha-pañkaja, ākulā becomes vyākulā — but adds no new argument.
