vyabhicarati — [the verb means] vyabhicāritām prāpnoti — it attains vyabhicāri-hood; ādye rase — in the first rasa.
Jīva unpacks the mūla's word 'vyabhicarati': it means roṣa attains the status of a passing feeling in the first (i.e. primary) rasa, śṛṅgāra.
ādye rase, 'the first rasa', is śṛṅgāra, traditionally counted first among the rasas; Viśvanātha names it śṛṅgāra outright (see c3.s2).
