L1definition
ahitas tu hares tasya vairi-pakṣo nigadyate ||
ahitaḥ tubut the second kind — the ill-wisher, the one who bears no good will tu marks the shift to the second type of ālambana for this rasaजो (हरि का) अहित अर्थात् शत्रु है — और 'तु' दूसरे भेद की ओर संकेत करता है
hareḥ tasyatoward that same Hari — the one he is hostile to genitive: whose enemy he isउस हरि का (जिसका वह शत्रु है)
vairi-pakṣaḥnamely, the enemy camp, the hostile faction ranged against himवह वैरी-पक्ष (शत्रु-दल)
nigadyateis declared [to be the object on which this rasa rests]कहा जाता है
ahitaḥ tu — the ill-wisher, on the other hand; hareḥ tasya — of that Hari; vairi-pakṣaḥ — that is, the enemy faction; nigadyate — is declared [as the ālambana].
Now the second thing this rasa can rest on: the enemy. He is the one hostile to Hari — the hostile camp lined up against him. That enemy, Rūpa says, is declared to be the support of raudra-bhakti-rasa.
Raudra-bhakti-rasa (the mood of anger) needs an ālambana, something the anger fastens onto. The lead-in marks this as the second such object; here it is harer ahitaḥ, 'the enemy of Hari.'

śruti-śiraḥ-śikhā-maṇi-marīci-nīrājita-honored as with waved lamps by the rays of the crest-jewels set on the heads of the śrutis (the Upaniṣads) long compound modifying caraṇa-paṅkaje in the next line; nīrājita = the lamp-waving of āratiश्रुति के शिर (उपनिषदों) की शिखा पर स्थित मणियों की किरणों से जिनकी आरती (नीराजन) की जाती है — ऐसे (चरण-कमल)
[builds toward L3] harau — toward Hari; whose śruti-śiraḥ-śikhā-maṇi-marīci-nīrājita- ... caraṇa-paṅkaje — lotus feet are worshipped-with-lamps by the jewel-rays of the Upaniṣads' crests.
Picture Hari's feet. The Upaniṣads bow their heads at those feet, and the jewels on their crests throw their light there — so the very radiance of the crest-jewels performs ārati over his lotus feet. And it is toward this Hari that someone will now show contempt.
An udāharaṇa illustrating harer ahitaḥ — the enemy of Hari as the ālambana of raudra-bhakti-rasa, just defined in the preceding line (4.5.18). Viśvanātha names the scorner as Śiśupāla and 'this Pāṇḍava' as Bhīma; the verse is spoken in Bhīma's own voice.

Those very feet — and here is a man who shows them contempt. Even toward feet the Upaniṣads worship, he lets his scorn show. That man is the enemy of Hari.
The 'api' carries the sting: it is not contempt toward an ordinary object but toward the feet the whole of Vedānta honors.

ayam pāṇḍavaḥ — this Pāṇḍava [Bhīma]; savyaṁ padam — his left foot; śamana-daṇḍa-ghoram — terrible as Yama's rod; haṭhāt — forcibly; kṣipati — hurls down.
So this Pāṇḍava — Bhīma — answers the insult. He brings his foot down by force, a foot as terrible as the death-god's own rod.
Śamana ('the queller') is a name of Yama, the lord of death; his daṇḍa is the rod of punishment — the standard image of unstoppable, terrifying force.

Three times he lifts his left foot high — in full, open view — right over the enemy's crowned head, and slams it down. That is the enemy of Hari serving as the object of raudra: he draws Bhīma's terrifying anger straight onto himself.

Viśvanātha unpacks it. 'Heads of the śrutis' means the Upaniṣads; the jewels on their crests send out rays that wave lamps of ārati over Kṛṣṇa's lotus feet. So 'toward Hari' is toward that Śrī Kṛṣṇa. The man who shows contempt toward him is named Śiśupāla. And 'this Pāṇḍava' is Bhīma — who is myself, the speaker: Viśvanātha reads the verse as Bhīma's own words, which is why it goes on to say 'my' foot. Onto Śiśupāla's crown, Bhīma raises his own left foot — more frightful than even the rod of Yama — and hurls it down.
mal-lakṣaṇa literally 'having me as its defining mark' — Viśvanātha takes 'ayam' (this one) as Bhīma naming himself, turning the verse into first-person speech; this is what licenses madīyam ('my') for the mūla's savyaṁ padam.
